No one tells you how quickly dogs age. How one day you wake up and suddenly their face is all white, how their eyes start to seem more milky than before, how you have to call their name a few more times than you used to.

People tell you not to blink when you have children, but what about the dog who was with you before your children were even thought of? The dog who was by your side before you found the love of your life, the dog who jumped from apartment to apartment in your early 20’s. No one tell’s you to cherish every moment you have with them…

Cherish the dog. The one who’s been there through every break up and every dumb fight with your best friend. That dog who slept in the bed with you when you were lonely and made you feel safe when you left home. Cherish him, because one day you’ll take him on a walk and he’ll start to get tired before you and you’ll realize just how many years he’s been walking by your side.

Today, Helen made me smile. Because she was just being a normal dog. She found herself a spot in the sunshine all on her own and decided to sunbathe. As if she wasn’t facing any type of challenges right now.

We are broken-hearted this afternoon.

Precious Bleue, just as she began to bloom she passed over the Rainbow Bridge.
There she will have a chance blossom.

Thank you for all the prayers love and support she felt to the end and thank you & Robles for giving her the proper burial that she deserved.

We gathered up this little Rose bud and took her in her time of need.
Rose you were not just any bud,
but a special Rose who passed before the World knew your beauty.

She has been laid to rest next to her sister Bleue.

Please continue to say prayers for the other 5.
We truly are doing everything possible to save these beautiful little souls.

OUR BOY ELIJAH IS FIGHTING FOR LOVE
I just received a call from the Dr. At the 24 hour Animal hospital. It is killing me that I can not visit & hold him with the pandemic. ELIJAH is on heavy pain medication, an wound vac, catheter & a feeding tube.
They are massaging him, icing his legs & they tell me he is resting comfortably. ELIJAH now has us! To fight for him. The only fight left for ELIJAH is the fight to Love! I am asking please for your support. This is going to be a very! Long road for our ELIJAH he needs us ALL! PLEASE DONATE & PLEASE! KEEP YOUR LOVE & PRAYERS COMING. ALL HE HAS IS US!

He's a good boy. Fly free Harry - You are so loved

It's been an emotional few days here at the sanctuary. Harry has been with us for a long while. Older guy that loved the independent lifestyle. Never hurt a fly. He just sat back and watched all the other dogs play. He loved to fetch when he got some time with the humans alone for the first few months. Then he decided the mature gentleman doesn't play fetch. So he just followed us around and let his curiosity take over.
Harry was a fantastic dog and will be terribly missed here! This past week he received lots of extra attention, belly rubs, and kisses!
The sanctuary will not be the same without him!

Gwen is a hospice case. She will never be what we widely consider healthy or fully well again.

However...
..a week of good love, good treats, good food, and good medicine can make a difference. Look at our girl today! She is happy, content, silly, and an absolute delight to her hospice family. They're are so glad she will get to be apart of their family, even if it is only for a little while.

Fly free, little one

This is one of the hardest posts we’ve ever had to write. Our sweet little Dobby lost his battle last night and is an angel now. His little organs had just been through too much from starvation to recover. He seemed to be doing better, but we know he was feeling happiness in those times. We are gutted today. We can’t thank his doctors, vet techs, and specialists enough that did everything possible to save his life. Everyone loves him and he would have had such an awesome life. He fought so hard. Today, please join us and light a candle for Dobby at 4pm CST.
His lost battle represents so many lost lives to senseless abuse. Thank you for your love, encouragement, and never-ending support. We love you, and we’re so sorry to deliver this news. Together, let’s light up the world for Dobby. Strayrescue.org/dobbysmiracle
