Mona and I purchased our Lab "Boomer " from Scott in August 2023 We found RJS kennels using AKC Market Place We called Scott and arranged to see his kennel , dogs and pups. We are very pleased with our choice. Scott was very gracious and has allowed me to work with he and Boomer to train and prep him for pheasant hunting. Even with a busy schedule of tending his farm and his other full time job he has made time for us His fees for doing so are very reasonable and has provide us a great opportunity to learn from him in his fields giving Boomer a chance to show his drive and natural hunting instincts. Many thanks to Ryan Passman for running Wyatt in Minnesota last week. He got his certified pointing retriever title and advanced pointing retriever title all in one weekend. Wyatt is a pup I kept out of Winston and Tia’s litter and he is just going to be turning two next month.

Ozzy and Doc had a great hunt this weekend. Ozzy was solid as ever on his points, and Doc was amazing. His marks were spot on and his retrieves were flawless. Doc is the almost three year old son out of Lt. Dan and Tia. He is owned by Jonathan and Corina Horlock. Looks just like his dad, is a great family dog and is developing into a fantastic hunter. Can’t wait to see where he goes next!

JUST A DOG

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog," or "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure and unbridled joy.

"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person.

Because of "just a dog," I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog," but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a woman."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog," just smile--because they "just don't understand."

Wyatt's first retrieve of the day. I really like this young dog. Out of Winston and Tia, only 15 months old he already has his first ribbons for APLA Certified Pointing Retriever and AKC Junior Hunter titles. Wonderful temperament and "off switch".

This pup was out of Artemis/ Ozzy . He is nine months old . Just got this picture from his owners. They are very happy with him. I really appreciate getting pictures and updates from clients about their pups.
