The post you’ve all been waiting for…. After a 3 week trial it is official! Penne is home!! She has a fenced yard, a dad that likes walks, a mom to snuggle, and all the chew toys she could imagine. Thanks to our day trip program Penne got noticed by a friend of Leah- pennes main Walker- and having recently losing their only pet pitty the universe put them in each other’s path at the perfect time! Penne loves her new family and they love her. Penne was a difficult case but we never gave up on her. Her happy ending was worth every drop of blood sweat and tears!

Update! I got adopted!!

Hi I’m Brutus, I’m looking for a foster or fosters to adopt! I’m dog friendly! I love going on hikes and to bark parks. I’m very nervous with new people and don’t really love being in the crate. But you should see me with my people! I listen and am so loving I climb right up in their lap! I’m house broken and a calm mature guy who really wants to be a couch potatoe! Can you help me out! FYR is helping my parents who are facing homelessness find me a secure spot. If we can find that magical unicorn spot where I could stay until my family could take me back I would love that the most! But if a good family who can keep me safe for ever comes across this post and thinks I might fit in with them my family would be willing to do what’s best for me and let me go to a new permanent home!

Hey guys! Me and some of my friends are looking for a foster! These guys would do best as only pets just like me! Is there a special family with no other pets or the time and space to properly crate and rotate? We all live at the same place now and are total good dogs! Could you give us some love and basic training(just the regular being a good dog stuff in a home) while we wait for our families to find us? We are all fully vetted and healthy overall, so vet trips are not likely needed, but if we did need to see somebody it would be in Springfield, PA. Fyr will give you everything you need to take care of us! Who wouldn’t want to hang out with one of these smiling faces!

Penne had a fun day trip with a new friend yesterday and some old friends in days before that! She really is the happiest sweetest girl! Now we are looking for a permanent home for her! I personally don’t like to censor anybody but I have received enough feedback from Penne‘s genuine supporters asking me to remove some unpleasant commentary that I have gone ahead and done so. Moving forward this page is going to be devoted only to finding Penne a perfect permanent home! Any interactions not in that spirit will just be removed. Well fam, it’s been a crazy journey for Mama Penne.
On January 30 she was adopted, fee waived, with the full package of supplies, a $450 crate, and all our usual super support offered. She had had babies literally eight weeks before and so she went home not yet spayed to recover another week or two with instructions to shedule at a particular selection of hospitals and return for the required spay which cost was included. Like so many of our pets do. He was a nice guy and kept in touch initially but after rescheduling once, when her spay was coming up again he suddenly stopped replying. I reached out to his personal contact. Who in turn tracked down a family member… That’s when we got the bad news. The adopter had been arrested a week or more prior and Penne taken to the shelter for a police courtesy hold. I immediately contacted the shelter and was told I have to call a different department following day, which led to phone tag and multiple departments for about 3 days before I got to the rescue coordinator who said I had to become a partner Rescue to be able to take her home. Acct had not auto transferred their implanted chips as promised and did not reply to a voicemail left with them about Penne being in the shelter. There was no nefarious intentions there, or a big dramatic mess up, it just was an unfortunate scenario where a series of small oversites at a struggling shelter led to a worst-case scenario. But once informed ACCT management and staff did jump on the wagon and make sure that they were reaching out to the shelter right away accepting responsibility for the error and letting them know that Penne was supposed to be chipped to me and I was her owner❤️ the Rescue Coordinator said that it was all ok and Penne would be held during the process but that it would take 1-2weeks minimum to be approved as it’s quite a rigorous process. It was a long wait and I checked in every day. At the conclusion we were, as expected, approved. We headed out to collect Penne after about a month long stay at Prince George county shelter in Maryland. Penne had been a model citizen at the shelter and the amazing staff clearly love her and all the dogs! They were pointing out dogs I could rescue before I even left! As part of their program Penne was Spayed while at the shelter for her transfer and came home to recover with me! After a few days she resumed her regular day trips with some of her old friends! She is settled in and doing great and I think I might have a foster to adopt option for her this week!! I’m sorry this adopter wasn’t perfect but he did care for her. In retrospect, it is very lucky she left still intact Bc if she hadn’t I might not have been following up so persistently - in turn not found out my girl needed my help so quickly. This adopter had been referred by a respected member of community whom also had some mutual friends with me and I don’t feel like their were any obvious red flags during his approval process. However we have added the following question to our application, “Are you currently under any criminal investigation, have any active warrants for any crimew, or ever been convicted of animal abuse?” I am very grateful to those in the community who were supportive during that very stressful and frustrating time. A few “rescue” people attempted to exploit this situation as some type of proof of my inability to properly run a Rescue or that I am some type of fraud flipping puppies and dumping moms 🙄 I knew where she was and was working on getting her back over a week before these other woman happened to stumble upon her shelter listing and instead of reaching out to a peer, and ask/alert me my pet was in trouble, they instead immaturely started a degrading post with a bunch of mean hearted gossip that I 100% ignored. 🤷‍♀️ I’m too busy working with dogs and following up with adopters to worry about that nonsense, but now that she is back here is the official announcement that Penne got home March 31st after a wild misadventure! Welcome home baby- I love you and I’m so proud of how far you’ve come since I met you. She settled right in and is just melting all our hearts all over again!

I would never leave a pet behind, I would never neglect a pets medical needs, and I always get the best placement I can find for each ❤️
Penne story isn’t over… she’ll get her happy ending yet.

Fair well Penne- you needed a miracle and thanks to a village we found it! Thanks to Mike Leisner, Belle Kleger Swartz, Leah Ortiz, Tulissa Parsons, , Stacie Klotz Hazard, Perla, leatherbury, b, and Hatfield Veterinary Clinic who all were a big part of her story and survival. This was a very difficult case but over our months together I feel she has improved ten fold! She is successfully crate trained and can handle periods of separation without complete meltdowns, she does not Chewbacca scream very often any more either. She’s had good dog interactions and we identified some of her triggers. She’s not eaten a door or gate in weeks! She has so many shiny attributes like her leash walking skills and love of car rides. Mama Penne with her heart on her side stole the hearts of so many! She’s a dog that needs a very particular owner and we lucked out with Gene! She will be the only pet, ride along in the truck often, and have a family of kids to love on. Penne has her miracle happy ending.

Penne’s 911 post. Please SHARE to find her family! We need a miracle and a only dog home! This girl is special. Super special. She has her limitations, we all do. BUT she is so gentle and soulful with people of all types it is just one of those one in a million dogs. She can’t be trusted with other dogs- for now. I’ve broken through a lot of her separation anxiety issues with smart managment and know that that does not need to be a major consideration past preferring someone who works limited hours or from home. She’s able to be caged for reasonable time periods now without panicking in her fancy Alcatraz crate. So with that special cage and a strong routine she’s doing quite well with the anxiety. She is phenomenal with all people- even special needs volunteers- and children. She loves car rides and is great on leash. She enjoys pupcups at Starbucks, loves cuddling to marathon Netflix together, and is perfectly sweater trained. She has so much love to give. I’m not exactly sure what happened to her in the past but something gives her a hair trigger with other dogs. And when she is activated it is red line level- fight to the death. She liked a couple super submissive male dogs, always played nice. Then we had just basic introduction of new dogs and any slight offense can solicit a reaction. If she engages in s as v fight I have seen her clamp down and refuse to release. With an adopter, we can’t take that chance. With any of our pets, we can’t take that chance. So now she is completely isolated to only human interactions again for the time being. Do I believe she could be fully rehabilitated? YES. In two weeks or two months? Honestly no- it will be a long process. She is quick to react but has had good interactions too so I hold hope she has potential for improvement. She cruises by dogs on leash out in the community no problem/ no interest. So distant causal interaction is not an issue. With proper muzzle training once she’s in a stable pet free home an owner could invest the time in slowly building the connection and laying the training ground work to eventually approach the idea of working towards dog interactions. But we CAN NOT demand that of her off the bat in a new home. And while I believe it is possible that she has the potential to be trained effectively and managed to avoid that impulse behavior- I don’t feel comfortable taking that risk with placement in any capacity so it MUST be an only dog home. She’s been really good with my cats so if there is a large residence with the ability to separate if needed it, and them not be under each other’s feet all day, it would be considered. Small caged animals she can be kept seperate from or caged birds are fine too. Penned chickens in the yard, no problem. She has not shown interest in mine. We are extremely honest about our pets needs. I thought she could be with other dogs myself at first and she had some good interactions but following Jingle Bellas arrival she became unusually aggressive and even attacked her through the cage unprovoked. She was eating a bowl of food in a separate section of the rescue area when she suddenly made eye contact and lunged. It was almost impossible to separate her once they connected?. So food was a component but she has not been food aggressive with others in the past. So why now? Was it just a dominant female explosion? Thankfully One dog was kenneled and I am a very confident handler and know what to do- so we got through with only the very minor injuries… but it could have been much worse. Since then we have noticed more concerning behavior like growling over her food in her cage if another animal is walked by - which she has not been doing previously. So again food seems to be a trigger. We tried bringing in some new chi chis s and when they barked as she was walked by their kennel she immediately became agitated fixated on them and snarled and snapped. So that’s-a no food incident. But again females with strong personalities. So maybe that’s the trigger. She’s been here about 8 weeks and this adds up timing wise to the dreaded 2 month shift in behavior, their true behavior once settled in. And she had come in with very concerning dog behavior reports as a “stray” in closing a claim she killed another dog. I previously doubted that but not anymore. I don’t think it’s a fluke. I don’t think I can continue to save dogs or bring new dogs here at the risk of antagonizing her worst behaviors and taking the risk of a tragic accident. While I desperately search for a home that could be the right fit I may need to temporality shut down if I can’t figure out another safe placement. I am feeling the pressure having a home filled with my own animals and the fear that one small mistake could be fatal for someone I love. I love her too but I can’t keep her forever. My life isn’t conducive to her happiness. We are surviving not thriving with her. I have a responsibility to her to give her a life she thrives in. In Have a responsibility to my adopters to set them up for success. A family with no dogs and limited exposure to other dogs will be the most guaranteed to be successful. She gravitates to children. She is wonderful with men and woman. She is practically perfect. She needs a family she can be an active part of. One that will heed our warnings and work with her to be her very best self!

Please share and pray that her family will finally find her! I know someone is out there picturing their life with a girl just like her. She is the perfect family dog she thrives around people….We just need to find HER PEOPLE!

Can everyone do us a favor and share Penne page with your friend or “invite” your friend to like. We have made progress with the crating thanks to a generous donation to our rescue of an Alcatraz crate from Laura B. We were able to use that after Penne became aggressive with a new female we had come in. Now we can safely contain her with out destruction which means she can be left alone for periods of time without being A danger to her self. This means that a potential home for her does not need to be home all day but just somebody who doesn’t have super long working hours. Penne thrives around children and adults and has never met a stranger of the human variety. But she should be the only pet in your home. She has had good interactions but she has also had some bad interactions so we think that she will thrive being the one and only. Penne is so sweet and just wants to be near you. Is there anyone out there who could love her back? She was a throw away mama found in Frankford Philadelphia, pregnant and alone, and was able to join Furever Yours Rescue just in time to have her puppies. She’s had it with her puppies now and just wants a human best friend. She is estimated to be 1-2 years old and is 60 pounds. So far she’s been great with everyone she meets. She’s great on the leash and housebroken. She’s very affectionate and snuggly. She’s good with kids and could maybe live with cats. Most of the time she’s been okay with other dogs but prefers no other dogs in the home. She’s not so great at staying in her kennel but we are using a more heavy duty crate now. Her ideal home has someone who is home a lot or working from home!

Penne is looking for a foster or adopter. She is very stressed again and wants to be with her person 24/7 so someone home most of the day is required. She is highly destructive if she is contained and left alone. iE will bend the bars of her cage or paw at the door. But if she is simply with you she is the calmest most docile girl. She is great around cats and perfect with all the dogs big and small we’ve introduced her to. She’s a total lover baby with a touch of separation anxiety. Local to ambler or Hatfield is ideal.
