We, and our animals, would like to thank everyone for understanding the difficult decision Mid-Atlantic Reptile Expo had to make in regards to the event scheduled in Wi******er, Va this past Saturday. The failure of the A/C system could have been life threatening for many of the animals we keep.
We are sorry to hear people made the trip to Wi******er on Saturday because they missed the post on the Mid-Atlantic page Thursday prior to the show or the many posts on various vendor pages, including our own. We do hope you are able to make it August 3rd, we'd love to see you!

ANNOUNCEMENT:
We just received communication from Mid-Atlantic Reptile Expo. The expo scheduled for this Saturday, June 22 in Wi******er, VA has been rescheduled for August 3rd, 2024.
The A/C unit in the building failed and while repairs are underway, they will not be completed by Saturday. With temperatures expected to be in the 90's, it would be unsafe, not to mention uncomfortable to proceed with the event. Here at Nature's Palette Exotics, as I am sure the other breeders agree, we would not bring our animals to an event that could not keep temperatures below 80º F. When temperatures reach that high, the lives of many of the animals we keep could be endangered. Dart frogs for example are likely to die. Dart frogs, crested geckos, and other animals prefer temps around 72º (some can go a few degrees higher for short periods).
We appreciate your understanding and hope you can come see us in August! "Murphy permitting", we will be vending Northern Va Expo at Berryville next weekend!

Syngonium red spot tricolor is fairly new and popular plant. We have several of them and we will be propagating soon. Each leaf has it's own unique color and pattern making it a very colorful plant.

There were 8 more Ranitomeya ready to morph this week. Just prior to morphing they are moved to a cup in their new bioactive enclosure. This allows them to come out when they are ready. Unlike larger species these young froglets will often retreat to the water when disturbed. Thumbnail dart frogs are fun and always entertaining.

We will be vending tomorrow at the Northern Virginia Reptile Expo in Manassas Virginia. We have lots of terrarium supplies, bioactive supplies, dart frogs, crested geckos and plants. The first 10 people that come see us and mention this post will receive a free plant. I have peperomia and pink panther tradescantia up for grabs.

A few dart frog tadpoles have hatched this week with about 15 more due in the next few days :)

Our Ranitomeya sirensis "rio pachitea yellow" have eggs. The male is guarding the eggs which were laid on the glass. If you look closely, you will see the tadpole wiggle in the egg. Once the tadpole hatches the father will carry it on his back. He will deposit it in water where it will develop into a frog.

One small leap for frog kind. It has been a crazy week. It seems like every day we have another tadpole turning into a frog. At least 5 more will make the leap this week.
