Artisan rare breeds and animal rescue would like to sincerely send our condolences to Andrew's family.

Our long term friend and volunteer, who also became a much loved member of the family, has sadly passed away.

Andrew was a dedicated friend to the Rescue for over 30 year's, many of you may have met him. Fondly known by all the children he met as Uncle Andrew, known for his Happy go lucky lifestyle.

Dear friend I wish you safe passage to pastures new, until we meet again, we all love you and will miss you for eternity.

SANSA UPDATE.
sansa is coming on leaps and bounds and making a remarkable recovery.
Upon arrival sansa weighed 24kg, her current weight is now 30kg, her wounds have healed extremely well.
Sansa has had all medication Greatly reduced and is now following an exercise schedule to rebuild her damaged muscles. She has also been neutered.
Many thanks to Meopham Vet's for saving her life and the dedication and commitment by the Foster family, and also everyone who Donated to save this very special lady.

We are absolutely appalled how this little girl has been treated.

SANSA UPDATE.

Sansa is looking so well now, many thanks to the efforts of the Foster home and veterinary practice.
Her Dressing is still being changed regularly at the vets, and Sansa has begun to exercise.
Weve also been Gifted free hydrotherapy later if necessary to aid her recovery.
Just had an additional update to add, Sansa has gained 5kg since the day of her accident.

SANSA UPDATE
Sansa has now been released into our care, mircously the Vet's and there team have saved her leg and her life, there is still ongoing treatment regarding her leg, and concerns long term, providing she does not get an infection which would mean a rethink and best course of veterinary treatment for the leg, following veterinary advice on her leg, the current prognosis is promising.
At the moment we are waiting on the extent of ligament and tendant damage to see how she will use her leg and the amount of normal use she will be able to do.
Sansa must return to the Vet's daily for treatment, then every two day's to have dressings changed, sansa is also on medication to help with her liver and its repair.
We have managed to track down her previous veterinary record's as a result we are now aware of a few minor conditions that are now being addressed.
The following treatment will apply over the next few weeks including daily vet visits, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, were looking at a full recovery time of 4 to 6 months.

We would like to thank the following Meopham veterinary surgery for there dedication and life saving treatment.
The volunteers that are providing daily transport to the vets with a vehicle fitted with a ramp allowing sansa a easy transition to and from the Vet's
Kent police for all there help and concerns
And the members of the public for Donating towards her care and treatment.
To the kind lady that donated an orthopaedic bed for sansa.
We look forward to updating you next week with photos for you all to see sansas progress.
In the meantime we have also made another payment from your donations for her care.

Wow we've just been allowed to have a cuddle with sansa, here she is today at the surgery.
Weve also paid an additional £1041.45 towards her care on behalf of everyone thats Donated.

SANSA UPDATE.
Good morning everyone we hope the following can add some clarity to the situation regarding Sansa.
We have now had chance to speak to all the witnesses, the registered keeper and current owner.
Sansa was picked up by our rescue and rushed to a veterinary practice for immediate treatment, despite our efforts and the efforts of police at that time an owner could not be found.
Upon arrival Sansa was in shock and deteriorating rapidly, later that evening the owner was traced and they liased with the vet, once the owner was informed of the extent of Sansas injuries, the owner believed they were doing the right thing at that moment in time to PTS, at that time even myself and colleagues did not think sansa would make it.
We immediately offered to step in and take legal ownership of sansa and help with any medical bill's, this was relayed to the owner who agreed if we could raise the funds we could then make a conscious decision and to try our best and save sansa.
We returned to the veterinary practice and we had a lengthy discussion with them, as a rescue we thought there is a chance we could save her with the outstanding service the vets supplied, fortunately we made the right Decision and she survived, many people have contributed towards the life saving treatment of sansa, from the ambulance driver that stopped and pulled her from a live lane on the M20, the police on scene and the officer from highways England, our part was very small, in comparison to the efforts made by others.
Ultimately the money raised in such a short space of time also contributed in saving her life and the over whelming support from the public.
Please don't hold any animosity against the owner, they had to make a very quick decision in a short space of time, under the most distressing circumstances.
All information has been given to Kent police to help conclude there enquiries and the owner is happy that she stays at the vets then with is at home until at a later date her welfare can be best assessed.

To conclude an update from the Vet's, more scans and investigations are taking place today, and an assessment is being made daily, there is still a possibility they sansa will loose her leg, will update when we know.

UPDATE ON SANSA

Weve just spoken to the Vet's as I write this update sansa is being sedated and sent for x Ray's and scans to assess the full extent of her injuries both internal and external.

We have just received the following update from the Vet's.
I will try to be as accurate as possible, please forgive me if I've missed anything as there's alot of information to digest.
The following direct from Vet's
She is currently stable
Cannot operate tonight until stabilised
Bloods taken
Internal bleeding detected around her liver.now stabilised.
She has been cleaned and is comfortable,

⚠⚠ URGENT PLEA FOR HELP PLEASE!! ⚠⚠

This afternoon this beautiful female German Shepherd, was involved in a road traffic accident on M20 in Ashford.

SHE HAS BEEN BADLY INJURED AND THE DRIVER DIDN'T STOP!

Her owner has been located, but has signed her over to us at the Rescue! We need to raise another £2000 approx.

Our Tawny Eagle is Getting on now, she's nearly 30 year's old.
Did you know thatTawny Eagles are endothermic, which means they absorb the heat and energy around them, There also homoiothermic which means they constantly have a higher body temperature than average.
There bilateral symmetry means they are identical both sides of there Body, tawny eagles get there name from there tawny coloration which can be lighter or Darker brown.
Tawny Eagles are Diurnal and often mate for life, there diet in the wild consists predominantly on carrion, small mammals and insects.
