Today we began crate exposure/training for Ivyโ€™s puppies! ๐Ÿคฉ The video is reality and shows a snippet of part of my day raising our puppies and going the extra mile. ๐Ÿพ Honestly, this is a day I donโ€™t look forward to, but I know it helps tremendously when puppies go to their new homes! That is, if the family continues to crate train and put in the work. I recommend continuing this on DAY ONE. Puppies are situational, and when you change their entire environment, it is a big adjustment for them! Expect them to whine some the first few nights. Keep in mind, something that starts out as pure chaos can really turn into something beautiful when you stick with it. The crate will be a โ€œsafe placeโ€ for your dog if trained properly. Today all of the pups settled into their crates really well, with the exception of two pups. ๐Ÿ˜† Our pups will now have crate time each day prior to coming home. They are crated while I clean their area (around 1.5 hours) and they have a crate in their area at night to sleep in. They will also start having meals in their own crates, which also helps a lot! My 6 adult dogs that live with me are fed in their kennel each day. You want to associate the crate with positive experiences, and never as a punishment! โœ”๏ธ Crate training is something Iโ€™m passionate about!
