I can’t imagine what would be without . Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had a fascination with how dogs function and interact. My family’s aussie attended some training classes when she was a pup; I remember my parents showing me how to continue the training- using hand signals, my body language, a leash, rewards… my mind was blown. Ever since then I knew my passion was with canines, and I couldn’t be more happy with my decision. Dogs are such spiritual creatures; they remind us to live in the moment, as they don’t dwell on what’s happened in the past. They get us outside, always with the intention of a good time. They don’t stay long with us to remind us of all these things. So on this 2021 hold your pooch a little closer, and get your butt outside! 😉 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Gracie completed her (first) 5 Day Training Camp with me! I’m so proud of how far this lil girl has come, even in just 5 days!! We focused on slowing her mind down to stop her anxious freak outs, that mainly happened in the car and the crate. She is now a lot more comfortable in her skin! 💕

Headed out to the park today for some Recall Practice and Engagement with Little Miss Shasta!
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. Dogs are a lot like us in the sense that the more we exercise a skill, the better we get! Sometimes doing Recall reps isn’t “pretty” or “picture perfect”... however, building this foundation goes a long way. You can see a couple times, without prompting, Shasta looking, following, and coming to me! The leash is not only there for safety, but for guidance when needed. I also use my body and tone as an indication of “yes, come my way!” Shasta is already a great little pup. ❤️

Odie’s First Walk & Train Session with me! 🐶
🔹Odie is a 4 year old cocker spaniel, who is the sweetest thing. I noticed right away that he tends to pull, sniff, and be very engaged with the environment. So today I introduced him to a 2.25 prong collar and how to yield to leash pressure. As you can see, he did awesome!
♦️I wanted to point out these turns that so many trainers talk about. In the beginning of the video I slowed down a clip showing me turning directly into Odie’s path; you can see it throw him off. I’m not forcefully shoving myself into him or kicking him - I’m using body pressure. Dogs respond so well to pressure, whether it’s through a leash or our bodies. I’m blown away at how well he did!

“Money can buy a lot of things... but it doesn’t wiggle its butt every time you come in the door.” ••••••••••••••
My pack is the inspiration behind starting my own doggie business. We got Savannah (far left) when I was 19, and I can truthfully say I had no idea what I was doing. 😂 She pulled on walks, highly reactive, and had redirected onto me a couple times. I tried everything from multiple “no pull” harnesses, head harnesses, martingales, and heavy treat training. There’s so much information out there on how to train your dog, it took me awhile to figure out what actually works. Balanced training and knowing how to use tools has made all of our lives better. Knowing how to be a proper leader for my pushy herding dogs - has empowered me. My mindset has changed and I do the best for my dogs. I now aim to spread the information and knowledge I have with other struggling owners. Dogs have no idea how to strive in a modern human world, and we must guide them through it! ••••••••••••••
