It never fails to amaze me - the lack of compassion and understanding toward these beautiful, inquisitive birds.

A neighbour asked me if I could re-home them, as his friend was going to chop their heads off - as they had 'stopped laying'. I found a home for them with a kind lady, one chook had laid an egg in the crate on the way there and the other one was in full moult!

Do people not realise that chooks don't just lay eggs non-stop? They have definite cycles of moulting and egg-laying - and even if they don't lay any more, they are great pets for children!

We have 3 lovely Isa Browns - Rose, Daisy and Lizzy - located in Pakenham that need a home.

They don't lay any more but are great pets!

I could probably pick them up, if anyone in East Gippsland is interested 😊
