Jupiter is massive for only a yearling. Photos do not do him justice. He is honestly the most stunning horse and so proud to of bred this guy. Arabella was telling mayzie all about her life but Jupiter always seems to be the pick and favourite 🥰

Big boy enjoying the sun and dry weather for a change…. Maybe not the cool nights

Crazy to think in the flood the water was over halfway up that wall and if you see the white part of that cane harvister up top well it was the only thing showing as that whole thing went under.

Rocky tha pally we lost in the floods he was found at the neighbours and he helped me when breaking willow in. This is them 🙂 rocky I also finished off his breaking as a kid in the middle of the paddock, he then went on to teaching lots of people to ride.

Today was goodbye to this girl. We had to move paddocks and this girl just didn’t handle it she went down with colic then went into shock as she went into labour from the colic 😞 I gave her a last cuddle before she went and was there for the last breathe but still not any easier 😞 I really loved this horse, she was a very cuddly girl and only really liked me catching her and she was pretty special that’s for sure, she also was the last of the lines bred out of my childhood horses the ones that gave me the passion I have now for the horses, the ones that thought me to be who I am today it hurts me to know that there all gone now… this year has been cruel the floods really impacted me with the loss of my fur family and farms go under having all the memories of what I grew up with gone and it can’t come back. But I am going to thank these horses and what they showed me… giving me the skill and passion I have today all because of them 💜

One reason to always have hay in front of them before working.

One reason to always have hay in front of them before working.

Unlike humans, horses are designed to run on a full stomach. Feeding your horse 2-3L of chaff or a biscuit of hay prior to exercise has two benefits :
1️⃣ The chaff will form a ball of feed in the stomach, which will help prevent acid from splashing up from the lower part of the stomach to cause gastric ulcers.
2️⃣ Blood is normally diverted away from the stomach during exercise, which reduces some of its normal protective mechanisms. Research has shown that feeding your horse before exercise actually reduces the amount of blood that is shunted away from the stomach and also increases the amount of blood delivered to the skeletal muscles and muscles of the chest. So not only are you helping to protect the stomach, you also might be improving your horse’s performance.

Pardalotte spat out the goods last night and gave just what was ordered. A beautiful buckskin filly with some pretty bling 😍 it’s so wet and horrible weather but some hay and a paddock to go run out in is what’s needed as we don’t have stables. Any name ideas throw this way and something to do with the storms and rain she was born in just a paddock name as she has a registered name already 🙂

First handle session and this pony seems to enjoy the interaction. I can see her opening up to be a awesome kids pony one day the personality is there.
