Heads up to boarders that the barn will be busy and parking limited as we have another load of hay coming this morning before today's snow storm. If you can wait to come out until later in the day that would be ideal. If you need to be out before approx 2pm please park on the north end of the barn by the overhead door.

Update:
Resevation cancelled. Arena available for free use by all boarders. Happy riding!

The arena is reserved from 1:30p - 2:30p this Sunday (October 27th). Boarders are welcome to ride during this time, but there will be jumps set and right of way must be given to the booking.

The arena has been booked for 5:30p - 6:30p Friday October 18.

The arena will still be open for boarders to ride, however right of way must be given to the booking.

🍂 Happy First Day of Fall! 🍂

As horse people, fall is often our favorite time of the year to enjoy time with our horses. The shorter days and cooler temperatures serve as a warning of the frigid months to come and a reminder for us to enjoy every day that we have up until then.

A quick reminder to boarders: Your horse's fall dewormer will be provided and administered at no extra cost. Fall deworming is a requirement as part of our farm's herd health management. Should you choose to provide your own dewormer, please reach out to confirm that it is an acceptable type. If you would like us to supply your dewormer but prefer to administer it yourself, please let me know and I will provide you with it at the appropriate time. We typically deworm everyone when the weather is consistently cool, and we have had a few hard frosts to ensure bug season is over.

📢 Notice to boarders:
Over the next few days horses will be transitioned over from timothy pellets onto alfalfa pellets. Several months ago the switch from alfalfa to timothy pellets had been made due to inconsistent quality of pellets from the manufacturer. As it seems that this issue has since been resolved, we are now returning to the original and preferred product.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

If you expect to continue to be welcome on the property CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR HORSE.
The amount of manure I find left in the stalls, the holding pens, the arena, and in the middle of the driveway on a daily basis is unacceptable. End of story. Do better.

A reminder to boarders:

Parking is along the East side of the barn. There is easily enough room for 5+ vehicles there when parked sensibly. DO NOT park blocking any trailers that do not belong to you, ESPECIALLY when riding off property.

I've got the most high traffic areas by the gates and behind the barn covered with a layer of sand to help with traction. It has made a huge difference, but please be cautious still.

As much fun as I had unloading and spreading 1500lb of sand by hand, I think next year I'll have someone deliver a load that I can spread with the tractor. 😅

⚠️⚠️ The recent melt along with yesterday's freezing rain has made the yard an absolute skating rink. While the roads seem to be relatively drivable, I recommend not coming out today unless it is absolutely necessary. The driveway and gate areas are dangerously slippery. Horses supplements were taken to them in their pastures to avoid any slips or falls. Please rest assured that your horses are being well tended to and consider taking the day off from any barn related activities. Use extreme caution if you must come out. ⚠️⚠️

If any boarders are interested in dental work with Leo Tournier please let me know. We are currently in the process of lining something up for Spring 2024. No dates confirmed as of yet, but I would like to have a rough idea of numbers ASAP.

Depending on the number of spots available, we may open times for haul-ins as well. If you are interested in dental work with Leo but not a current boarder, please feel free to reach out and I will keep in touch when we know more.
