Hey y’all. If anybody has any unused, leftover medicines for pets or people and you are willing to part with them, the rescue could use some to add to their stockpile. There are some meds we are in immediate need of some easier to acquire others so please PM if you have anything.🙂

Hello all! Little Cypress (kitten who came in starving/anemic) is doing great. Has kitten zoomies and loves to cuddle. I have twice tried to switch him over to a regular kitten food and both times his little system can’t handle it yet. This is what I have him on that he does so well with. The rescue just bought 6 more cans. He is going through 3 a day. Going to attempt to switch him more gradually. They are tiny cans and cost $2.49 EACH at Petsmart. I really hate asking for help- but If anyone is out shopping and would like to donate a can or two- that would be super helpful:)

Can fleas really kill a kitten? This baby was found wet, matted and infested with fleas after the storm. Her new family wanted to keep her but reached out because they had no idea how to deal with this level of infestation and she was anemic. These are pics of her SECOND bath and us removing stubborn flea by flea with tweezers. She is flea free, had parasite meds, some vitamins, and has a full belly. She is ready to go back to”home”. She is lucky to be found and cared for. So many are not- but I’m preaching to the choir on this one. Last pic is her all fluffy and feeling better!

Hello y’all. I will give you more updates on little kitten, and baby squirrel? (and possibly more babies coming in) however right at the moment I need y’all to help me do some detective work. About a year ago, maybe a little less, a very nice lady came by who owns her own shampoo and supplement business for animals. I wrote her name down and tucked it somewhere very safe. I also went back through my messages and I cannot find her. I thought I remembered the name of her company but when I’m searching it, I cannot find it. I have some questions about some supplements she donated and wanted to order more stuff possibly, and share that information with other people- however I can’t find her. She had a really cute name for her business and it was attached to her name somehow and it’s on the tip of my tongue, but it’s just not coming to me. I apologize to her. I have 1 million things going on here. If you can help please contact me.:))

29 goats (including blind/nursing mommas)

4 horses
1 Donkey
6 piggies
12-15 barn kitties
5 inside /special needs kitties
3 kittens
5 hedgehogs
5 rabbits
6 Turkeys
7 ducks
4 geese
?? Chickens (25-30? They hide/comeback/disappear)
And one little special duckling 🙂

Thats over 90 animals we care for here daily and a storm is just another thing we deal with. Right now it’s just me, my family, and my neighbors Karleen and Klytie who handle it all. We are a small but mighty crew and get it done!

Pray for the safety of us and our animals and everyone near the path of this storm!

Cypress is acting like a normal kitten! Still some tummy and skin issues, but getting better everyday! Thanks for all of the well wishes, gifts, and donations! You have helped bring him back from the brink of death to looking forward to a full, happy life. Hopefully he will be ready for his new home in a month or so. Keep the good vibes coming!

Abandoned kitty near starvation is doing well 5 days later!

Note- we are NOT asking for a handout. Just help. Anyone have a connection with a golf cart repair/dealer? Someone who could allow the the rescue to make small payments? Sadly our beat up old Betty of a cart has died again. Last time I had her repaired I was told that the parts were getting harder and harder to come by and that he may not be able to fix her any longer. She has served as well over the last five years and was old/ very used when we acquired her. Maybe somebody creative could help us fix her. I believe it might be the alternator. We can get her started again by charging the battery, but she promptly dies after a few uses. The battery is newer and OK. Just thought I would throw it out there to the universe and see what happened. We REALLY need a cart like this to help us with all of the hauling duties 80+ animals on 8 acres entails. Thanks 😊 💜🐾

Little Cypress was thrown out under a cypress tree in a storm at six weeks of age. He was starving, infested with worms and fleas, wet from rain and filthy from head to toe. This is his third day at the rescue. We are working so hard to get him better.!

This little one was tossed out in front of our farrier at the feed store. He was filthy, covered in fleas, full of parasites, anemic, and starving. Samantha said “he smells like garbage” when she got him. That was putting it mildly. He got a bath, deflead, dewormed, and is now warm with a full belly. I couldn’t save the last one, but here’s hoping that this little one will make it. Spay and neuter your cats- and for the love of God, do not dump helpless babies out in storms.😡

I never make the bottle first.

If it’s one thing I’ve learned in rescue, it’s to never make the bottle first.
Little babies come to me sick, injured, and abandoned.
Sometimes at the hands of humans and sometimes just the reality of nature.
I try to be their savior.
I set my alarm to wake up to feed.
I make sure they are warm.
I change their linens.
I snuggle their little faces and give them kisses.
Every time I go to check, I never make the bottle first.
For I have learned in the past, the only thing worse than finding the baby you tried so hard to save has crossed over the rainbow bridge,
Is to find that out holding the bottle for a baby that will never eat it.

So, I never make the bottle first.

RIP sweet little Esther. I tried. You had many rooting for you and you were loved.

Update on little Esther- sometime between the 4-7 am feedings
she wiggled her way off the heating pad and onto the one corner of the cage that wasn’t heated. I warmed her back up and she ate. This one’s going to be a handful! I don’t want to get too optimistic because she is so tiny, but it’s always a good sign when they make it the first night 🐾♥️😊
