Ummm, Carl, GET OUT OF MY WAY.
Climbing stairs, an impossible task for Geordi even a couple of months ago. Made possible by FHO surgery at VCA Forest South last year & months of treatment at Ready to Go Veterinary Rehabilitation in Mokena.
Geordi working on strengthening the muscles in his back legs with vet tech Karina, part of today's therapy session at Ready To Go Veterinary Rehabilitation. Among his surgeries, Geordi has had FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery on his left hip. We are hoping Geordi can avoid further surgery for a lateral luxating patella & FHO on his right hip..
Green beans are a treat for Geordi.
Geordi's first walk in the yard after FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery for a long ago left displaced hip & entropion surgery (Entropion is an abnormality of the eyelids in which the eyelid rolls inward. This inward rolling often causes the hair on the surface of the eyelid to rub against the cornea resulting in pain, corneal ulcers, perforations, or pigment developing on the cornea which can interfere with vision,). Geordi will be going to a rehab vet for massage therapy, cold laser treatments, low frequency sound wave therapy &, after stitches are removed, underwater treadmill work. In a few months, after the muscles on this side are strengthened, Geordi will have FHO surgery on the right side.
My underwater treadmill initiation at Ready to Go Vet Rehab. Surprise, I like it. After FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery, scheduled for next week, these exercises will strengthen my muscles, speed & enhance my recover.
Geordi may want to play, but not with Matt.
Not a funny walk from Monty Python's Flying Circus, Geordi's left rear foot juting out at an off angle & the high leg lift are are the result of a laterally displaced patella. We hope Geordi's medical condition improves so he could survive surgery to repair his leg.
Geordi meets some of the crew at his foster home.
