Like many others, I've had a big couple of weeks showing horses. After the wonderful weekend at Willinga, it was time for the East Coast Arabian Championships in Sydney, where the horses I exhibited made me very proud.

Diamond Road Blond Ambition (Ray of Light x Kie-Al Gypsy Rose) was Champion Half Arabian Mare and in her first time out under saddle, Reserve Champion Ridden Half Arabian. Thank you to Thorek for leading her to her win, and Hopwood for riding her in her ridden class, and for training her so beautifully.

Netifa Al Maas (Abha Omani x Neytiri) was shown for a Top Five Purebred Junior Filly award, again by Thorek . I was very glad to hear someone behind me make a remark about her good movement, with their companion replying that 'it's in her breeding'.

Finally, my naughty, snorty Nahlouria (Vesuvio x Fazenda Za'jarne) showed in the very competitive Senior Mare class, only just missing out on a Top Five. Outside in the marshalling area she reportedly put on a dazzling performance while Netifa was inside the arena, and she gained many new fans.

Thought I would share this new photo of my Straight Egyptian mare Simeon Sal. I probably should have entered her in the AABC Show at Willinga, she is looking so fine!

Sired by Immesmerize (Imtaarif X Bint Mareekh Amir) from Simeon Shoshana (MB Talmaar x MB Masaleena), she is a worthy representative of her family…and she is a wonderful personality as well, one of the sweetest of all time in fact.

Sal is very much loved by everyone who knows her, and I hope to one day breed a gorgeous daughter from her.

Here’s a little video of 12 year old Ava catching Tag right after she had been using the shaker on him for our photo shoot. She is still working out different kinds of halters haha…however it shows the beautiful nature that he, and so many other Arabians here..

I have a palomino yearling gelding by Ray of Light from Amaki's Impresshan (SK Shakla Khan x Amaki's Impeccable). I think he is rather lovely, and perhaps someone reading this may feel the same way and want him to join them at their farm.

He is a very sweet horse, very calm and easy to work with. He is good enough to have remained a stallion, yet I feel that 'Tag' was born to be someone's best friend….we’ve all bred them, the ones that are quiet, affable geldings from the very start.

He is rather gangly so he may grow taller, but I expect him to mature at around 14.3hh. He will make a very competitive halter horse and ridden prospect.

Photos taken today - he lives out at all times, however has been used to stabling, rugging etc. He is a great colour, excellent conformation and movement, and very beautiful. PM if you would like to meet him.

Fara Bint Nira (Baromanov x Nira (Naavah x CP Neeka) gave me her first foal this season, and I think he shows a lot of promise.

Her c**t, is sired by the recently deceased Amani Monsicione, by AJ Mardan (Vervaldee x Felcia RLC) from the exquisite Alma Al Tiglio (Ajman Moniscione x Amanda El Tiglio). With a pedigree filled with so many greats, and conformation and type to match, in my opinion, he is very interesting.

2024 C**t by Atticus ENB (El Nabila B x Om El Benedine) from Neytiri (Al Kha-zar x Clifton Park Nefisa). He is absolutely gorgeous. Chestnut or grey? My eyes are turning inside out looking for those telltale grey hairs.

Ray of Light turns 20 years old today - where does the time go?! I'd love to see photos of his babies in the comments - he has 79 registered foals now, and a few more yet to be registered. He is still the only cremello I have ever bred, which upon reflection is rather odd. Hopefully next year I will get my long-awaited cremello filly, however I'll need to find the right mare first.

Ray of Light is celebrating today with a new round bale and a beautiful bay lady.

She is a cheeky one! 2024 palomino filly by Ray of Light from Amaki’s Impasshan.

Last week saw the birth of this beautiful palomino filly, the first for us since 2018. She is sired by Ray of Light and is from the National Champion Amaki's Impasshan (SK Shakla Khan x Amaki's Impeccable).

My joy at her birth is tempered only by the sudden loss of her mother, who passed away later that day, despite her valiant efforts to care for her foal. It is a sobering moment when one accepts that the focus now has to shift to the foal, rather than the mare you have known for twenty years.

Only the day before, our neighbour and friend Nell Marshman had lost her foal during birth, and so the decision was made to try our palomino with her huge warmblood mare of nearly 17hh. My initial fear of this huge mare soon turned to relief, and the foal was suckling within only a few minutes.

My attention could then turn back to her mother Tink, who fought so bravely and despite the best of veterinary care, she did not make it. She was a wonderful mare, never any trouble and always happy to do anything that was asked of her - she will be missed. Her daughter is just the tonic for both Nell and myself, and Nells beautiful and loving mare Adele.

The next one on my photography journey, Diamond Road Peridot (Amaki's Perlino On Ice x Bluegrass Dantielle by BPL Dante).

A faithful companion - she enjoyed the Pony Club Christmas Party Bush Ride this weekend, and was perfectly behaved as always. So much so in fact that she has won over a new fan in the form of a rider who took a turn on her...and has now decided to get back in the saddle more often, so long as she is riding Peridot. So glad I have extra room in the float! I love sharing the horses with other people.

Peridot is also the dam of two very well performed geldings, Imposing Legacy (by Ray of Light) and Diamond Road Valentuno (by Vesuvio).

Tail female to Naazirah (Mustafa x Naadirah) through Neshika (by Neshan).

Djamila has a yearling daughter by Titanium (Ekstern x Funkia) who is currently available and in Victoria.

Palma El Ameira - the next horse in my bid to photograph them all by the end of 2024.

Sired by Ecaho from Pilica, she is a full sister to famed Polish National Champion Mare Palmeta.

Palma has produced for us one filly and two c**ts, and she is again in foal to Titanium FX (Ekstern x Funkia by Gazal Al Shaqab) for 2025.
