I make no apologies I love making Fia happy. Not here is a treat happy, but here is a challenge only you can solve happy. I'm not satisfying her stomach, I'm satisfying her brain. She had to work for it, use her eyes, her nose, her experience, and her soft gentle mouth.

Its a busy time with the gundogs now the shooting season has started. Dogs doing what they were bred for - using their brain, eyes, nose, and prey drive. You can divert, ignore, or even attend a dog behaviourist. But working dogs want to work. If you don't give them a job to do, they will find one and you might not like what they choose.

Here is a picture of Fia sitting quiet under control but fully alert. She knows what her job is and does it very efficiently, you might call it fetch. Out of season she brings me socks, shoes, bottles. The process is the same, the desire is the same. But she is just biding her time......

Intelligent Game Finding Dogs With Drive And Style

Hi I'm Carol Johnson the Accio Labradors kennel owner, and I work my pedigree Accio gundogs as well as compete in Gun Dog Working Tests and Field Trials in Scotland. But just as important, they are much loved pets who live in the house with us most of the time. We are SSPCA approved Assured Breeders, and are hoping for some Accio labrador retriever pups this year, so if you like what you see - please register your interest and email [email protected]. My founding dogs are Druid and Fia, both have qualities I would want to see in a working or competing gundog and were chosen deliberately by me to start my kennel.
