Petit rappel de prendre du temps pour vous durant le temps des fêtes. 🤍
I am a dog trainer, and even for me sometimes walks are messy.
Leashes get tangled, one dog pulls, the second one breaks and the 3rd one seizes the opportunity and engulfs the piece of leftover trash on the sidewalk. Chaos.
As a result, I get frustrated with my dogs for not behaving, exasperated with myself for not listening to all the signs that showed me ahead that today I needed to take it easy.
And this enjoyable moment, walking my dogs on the morning, has turned into the sour reminder of my limitations.
So I don’t know if any of you needs a reminder today, but here it is :
You and your dog don’t have to be perfect.
Practice when you can, take breaks when you need them and enjoy either being with your dog or being on your own. Whatever fills you with peace and energy.
Winter is coming, days are shorter, and training or even living with a dog requires to follow the same exact rule as the one the airplanes company give us : put your oxygen mask first, and then you’ll take care of the dog (or person) next to you.
And if today you think that you SHOULD do something with your dog but you don’t feel like it. Then do nothing. And do it with you furry friend. Trust me, they can enjoy a relax day as much as you.
And if you need advices on how to keep your dog busy on a slow day, don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
