Julie is getting stronger and muscular ✨ She is doing so much hard work recently and improving drastically ❤️ there is still lot of work ahead of us, I’m not really sure how much flat work she done throughout her life, but the improvement is there literally every time I see her or ride her. Besides being great horse for beginners, she is also super sweet and usually calm ☺️

Can’t wait to see what the following month will bring.

We are back to work 💪🏽 this season has been super busy not only with horse riding classes but with building work going on. We have new paddocks for horses to spend more time outside and also plenty of grass collected for at least few months 😁 Let’s hope it lasts some time and the horses enjoy it 🙊

Little throwback to the last intensive workshop ! 😍🤍

We had a great time (apart from me being ill) and everything went so well! I was amazed how well and with so much excitement all the participants arrived !

The main difference about this workshop was that it was for adults only ! ❤️ Cause honestly everyone deserves time with horses and it’s never too late to start ! ✨

Trust ✨

So many people think that trust comes through time when we take care of our horse daily. That it’s something we prove over time. This statement is only partially true. Through time horses learn same as humans, but they’ll also understand that we humans don’t really understand them. Because honestly how many of us took a deeper look into horse psychology and the way horses communicate ? Do we really know how to respond to our horse’s fear, frustration or boredom?

So yes, trust is build over time, but how many times have we created a stress situation when our horse was really afraid or concerned ? I definitely did, because in the past I didn’t know any better. No one taught me the importance of communication and partnership. Back then trainings were mostly based on the horse’s submission. And if our training methods aren’t innovative and changeless can we even talk about trust ? 🤍✨

One of the most valuable skills in horse riding you can learn is to truly understand horses, their body language, their needs and know how to respond correctly.

I truly don’t enjoy riding a horse before we establish some certain level of partnership and communication. Riding without a deeper meaning or sense won’t be enjoyable for the animal and could bring lot of obstacles along the way.

If you ever wondered why you feel disconnected, frustrated, or like it’s too much work or as on a one-way-street it’s because communication hasn’t happened.

The good news is you can always turns it around and do better for your horse 🤍

All horses should have the possibility of living a free life out of stables and training arenas ✨

Sometimes the health of the horse doesn’t allow us to do so, but in 90% of cases there isn’t a reason why horse couldn’t live outdoors.

It’s extremely important and essential horses spend as much time freely as possible. Why ? Horses same as humans need to socialise in order to develop mentally and physically.

By giving your horse space to live freely you basically do half of the job 😊🤩 Not only your horse is going to have better social skills and mentally in a better state, you’ll improve their physical health, coordination,stamina and physiological well being.

I truly believe that movement is the most basic and most important requirement🌿

Obedience vs adaptability 🤔🤩

Simply said, obedient horse works only within some limit and some boundaries where he feels safe and he has experienced. But what happens when we take obedient horse out of his comfort zone ? Well most likely we will start seeing all the suppressed behaviour, discomfort and fear from the unknown. Always obedient horse might suddenly become uncontrollable.

Whereas a horse that is adaptable to new situations will remain calm, confident and curious.

But how do we teach our horse to be adaptable?

• We teach him that he can trust us especially in difficult situations.
• We do lot of groundwork and learn horse body language so that we can communicate more clearly.
• We boost horse’s confidence and curiosity ✨

It’s 2 years I’m in India. It’s actually more than that but it kind of slipped my mind and I got busy with work again.

I’m feeling joyful like a child. I know everyday can feel special if you choose to make it. But for me, there is something about birthdays, anniversaries… Reflecting on the year gone by, the experiences and life, and holding excitement for the year ahead.

This year began fast paced, with so many opportunities, challenges, nostalgias, laughs and joyful moments. All mixed up. So I guess it’s time to slow down a bit again especially in my head and start soaking in the Goan life with horses 🤍✨

How is your horse with foreign objects ?

Most horses are naturally skittish and they try to avoid anything unfamiliar. How we react to these situations and how we prepare our horses for the outside world, whether it’s at the show jumping ring or trail ride, decides how safe and confident our horse is going to be.

Obviously we can’t prepare our horse for every possible situation that might happen, but what we can do is to build a strong partnership where the horse is being heard and feels confident enough to communicate any discomfort with us, rather then immediately bursting into uncontrollable behaviour difficult to control.

The key is understanding how and what is the animal telling us and reacting adequately in a way the horse understands. Through our horse body language we need to be supportive and understanding, giving the space and freedom to express.

Horses belong to Mother Nature and we as a humans should strive to provide horses with this basic need. I believe we people belong to nature too but we forgot overwhelmed by work, technology and city lifestyle. But the truth is the truth and even if it might seem hidden, deep down we all know what makes our soul shine ! ✨

I remember as a kid how much time, effort and money I used to dedicate to horses. Even though there wasn’t any certainty of having own horse early on, it was my passion and I was ready to completely surrender myself to the idea of once building my own horse riding community.

Later on I ended up with 3 horses of mine. And the dedication and passion for horses only grew.

Nowadays I wonder whether children so passionate about horses and animals still exist.

Very often I hear how lucky I am that I had all the conditions to dedicate my life to horses, and unfortunately no one sees the hours spend on bicycle to reach the stables, no one sees those books I studied, hours of taking care of my horses, saving my money on clothes, presents or parties, being with my horses no matter the weather conditions (yes in Europe it can get very tough), not seeing my friends outside of school cause simply there was no time, the injuries and falls, no one sees all the hard work and money spent, no one sees all the vacations missed.

I haven’t grown up on a farm, no one from my family ever did horse riding before. It was my path that I choose and I decided to be a professional.

Please don’t take this as complaining, cause all this makes me extremely happy and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But it’s time to realise that results don’t come with minimum effort.

Horses are live animals, not one time entertainment, nor something to fill up time with. They have their own mind, own traumas, own way of thinking, own emotions. And to understand those takes years. Not speaking about all the management and care 😄

So if there are still any passionate people here, support one another along the way. Be disciplined, dedicated and enjoy the journey cause it’s so beautiful and absolutely worth it! 😍

Not many people knows this, but literally every time before I’m with horses I pray for safety, protection and guidance 🙏🏽🧎🏽‍♀️Doesn’t really matter whether it’s me working with the horse or I’m having a class 👩🏽‍🏫 I always pray 🤍

Why ?
I’ve experienced too many falls and injuries around horses and every life is so fragile - horse’s and human’s ❤️

Accidents happen, but God’s protection is greater 💪🏽

Also trainings with untouched horses can get sometimes little dangerous and even though in 99% of cases it’s always under control, the fact remains we are working with big, heavy, live animals 🐎

But most importantly I pray for guidance 📚I believe God will help me connect and understand these souls. I truly believe he will guide me and point me in the right direction. Cause God speaks Love. And Love is a universal language of all beings 💭

And who wouldn’t understand Love ? 🤍

No it was not raining ! 💦😅 but since this horse showed some distrust towards plastics and plastic sounds I thought why not to work on that 💪🏽🏋🏽

And so we did ! And it went super perfect 😙👌🏽

With a bridle or bridles, saddle or ba****ck ? 🤔 It doesn’t really matter ! 😊 The most important thing is you and your horse are both relaxed, communicating and feeling safe 💆🏽‍♀️

Ba****ck and bridles doesn’t necessarily mean feeling comfortable, confident and relaxed.

Personally I love riding my horses bridles, because I can concentrate on the gentleness and connection that is 100% essential to be safe and synchronised - literally becoming as a one 🫶🏽

However not ba****ck. Since I mostly ride horses that are all in training, finding balance, and making sure they carry themselves correctly would be just too difficult (and unnecessary).

Together in peace 🤍✨ that’s the most important thing!

Yesterday I worked with this special and quite huge horse 🥰 I love that even though he is not the most athletic and little slow let’s be honest, he finds the connection with human quickly. Although he might feel big and clumsy, he is actually very sensitive on the inside and follows the lead quite gracefully.

He is open and searching for the softness and connection , so all leads with the line became quite simple and easy.

What a lovely horse 😍🤩

Being back in Italy brings lot of memories. After all this is the place where I have learned the most and spent continuous time surrounded by horses.

But so many things have changed. The horses I knew are not there anymore, the place changed and I changed too. We all moved forward in some way, and that is good, cause where is no change there is no growth.

I’m missing the same old place where I started 7 years ago. But oh God I’m so grateful for all the experience and opportunities in those last years, and many more horses I got to work with by😍 it’s truly that Italian - Indian dream 🇮🇹🇮🇳

Braiding the horse’s mains took me approximately 2 hours, but the final look is just perfect 🤩 (at least I like to think so 🤭, I’m not a professional by any means 💇🏽‍♀️)

And the horsey girls were acting so professional as models ✨

Naturally foals are very curious about the outside world. Like humans, it is the time to explore, learn, try and experience 🤸🏽‍♂️It’s extremely crucial we encourage these foals to be curious as much as possible and teach them through curiosity 👩🏽‍🏫

The moment they learn through fear or force, not only they might start being fearful, they’ll also have a negative experience towards humans. They’ll understand that we don’t understand their language and way of communication. All teaching will become harder and we will simply kill the young spirit and joy to learn and be curious 📖
