This dog and his blankets, he currently has two all positioned the way he wants them! We are a bonded pair him and I, words can’t say how much I love him, I do feel I need to share what he did a few weeks ago. I’m struggling with adrenal adenoma and liver disease, which sometimes throws my blood sugar and etc out of whack. I’m generally up by 4:30am but I slept in and woke up with Alex licking my face around 7:30am. I was laying in a puddle of drool still not certain if it was mine or his. I realized I couldn’t lift my head up or even get out of bed. Luckily my husband was off work this day and I yelled for him as I was going in and out of consciousness. As we arrive at the doctors my blood sugar was 28 and other toxins in my blood were extremely high, I totally believe Alex saved my life that morning and so do the doctors. I’m not sure how to certify him as a service dog and we don’t really need it but we know he knows when something is wrong!

It was worth it, a line of cars behind and everyone booing you.
You stopped in the middle of the road
And all for helping a puppy who couldn't move.

We’re a little late Merry Christmas! Alex wouldn’t sit in front of the tree at all this year! He is walking fine now still not sure if it was his leg or foot.

Alex hurt his leg today, limping, not putting weight on it. He was just walking and started yelping/crying (tears) 🤷‍♀️ I’m so worried about him, he’s resting now, will see how tomorrow goes, if he can wait to see the vet on Monday or if we need to go to the emergency vet tomorrow…

It smells like gratitude, loyalty, nobility, affection, pure unconditional love. And in spite of all they've been through, they smell no resentment. So blessed that my house smells like dogs. "

Alex’s first snow!

A dear friend of mine passed away yesterday unexpectedly I’ve been laying on the couch feeling down and Alex isn’t having it. He’s licking my tears away. I ❤️this dog and I think he loves me

I’m off work this week, fall break for us paraprofessional’s and today Alex has escaped out the front door twice and ran all over the neighborhood with me chasing behind him praying he doesn’t get hit by a car 🤷‍♀️we are home safe and now he’s hiding behind the couch cuz I scolded him. Oh the joys of puppy hood. I so don’t think he’s a year old, puppy zooming still, running off and chewing on everything but we love him, we will get him trained I promise ❤️

He has come so far that I sometimes forget where he came from!

Due to we couldn’t get a health certificate it made trying to find transport difficult next to impossible. At this time I realized I may have to fly to CA with 2 small children and drive halfway across the country back home by myself and the thought of that made me physically ill. If you know my story I was kidnapped beaten and raped in 1995 and the very thought of traveling alone brought back nightmares and I broke out into hives and was seriously stressed out by now. We were networking to try to get a team of people or volunteers to drive him home or closer to home. We had a lady volunteer to drive him from Green River Wyoming to Gary Indiana if I could find someone to transport him to Green River, then we had a veteran volunteer to drive him from Phoenix Arizona to IL if I could get him to Phoenix. We worked on both of these aspects diligently. We had another volunteer who if we could get a health certificate later on who would fly to CA and then to Chicago and I could pick him up there. Another lady had stepped up and was willing to drive him to Phoenix but we never could get the dates to line up. At this point people were coming out of the woodworks so to speak but what I learned with the exception of the above mentioned volunteers the rest of the people wanted to be called volunteers but wanted paid high dollars, I even had one lady who just talked to me but now wanted me to pay her cuz she talked to me🤷‍♀️the world had lost their mind. I’ve learned a lot on this journey and most volunteer transports aren’t volunteers they charge a small fortune but there are a few true volunteer transport companies out there but Alex couldn’t be transported with them cuz of no health certificate.
