Building trust and confidence with Ralph has been such a rewarding journey. When we first adopted him, it was clear he was a natural-born jumper—effortlessly launching himself metres into the air from a standstill. Since jumping is something he naturally loves, I decided to channel that energy into a fun skill we could do together: jumping off the deck into my arms. At first, Ralph had some hesitations, which is completely fair—we hadn’t known each other long, and my requests probably seemed a little strange to him. But with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, you can see how far we’ve come. Ralph now confidently launches himself into my arms, and I’d like to think it’s because he trusts me as much as I trust him. (Now I just need to work on my catching skills!)This process has been a great reminder of the importance of building a relationship with your dog. Trust and confidence don’t happen overnight; they’re earned through understanding, mutual respect, and finding ways to bring out the best in each individual dog.Every dog is different, and getting to know their unique personality—what they love, what motivates them, and what makes them tick—makes all the difference. By tapping into Ralph’s natural abilities and letting his joy for jumping guide the way, we’ve created something that’s not only fun but also strengthens our bond.cTrust in your dog, and help them develop confidence in themselves. Together, you’ll achieve amazing things. What’s a skill or activity your dog loves to do? Share in the comments— We’d love to hear about it! #dog #dogtraining #dogtrainer #blueheeler
Millie always had a way of knowing—an intuition so profound it felt as though her soul was entwined with mine. She didn’t just meet my needs; she anticipated them. She knew when I needed her head on my lap, when I needed a laugh, or even when I needed to learn patience as she barked endlessly at something only she could see. She taught me to navigate conflict with a gentle heart, retreating in moments of raised voices, showing me how to bring calm to the chaos.
Intuition connected us in a way that words never could. It’s the thread that binds souls together, a quiet knowing that defies logic. Over the years, I’ve tried to live by it—following the pull of my heart, trusting the whispers of my gut. Sometimes I let logic override it, only to later realise my intuition had known better all along. Millie was the embodiment of intuition, her every action a reflection of what I needed, even when I couldn’t see it myself.
In the days leading up to her passing, my intuition stirred again. The night before, Millie visited me in a dream. She told me she was ready. She wasn’t afraid. At first, I brushed it off as a subconscious reflection of my growing fears, but a few weeks earlier, an Aboriginal elder and healer—a woman deeply attuned to her own intuition—had told me something I couldn’t shake. She said Millie would let me know when it was time, in her own way, with a look I would never forget.
That morning, as Millie grew weaker, barely able to lift herself, she found the strength to do what she’d always done—she came looking for me. I was lying on the lounge room floor, doing my knee prehab, when she slowly made her way in. For 24 hours, she’d struggled to move, to eat, even to go outside. But this time was different.
She stood at the edge of the room, her eyes searching. I called her name softly, waving her over. She walked toward me, her steps heavy, her body fragile, but her gaze steady. As she came closer, she leaned over me, her eyes locki

🌟 Building Confident Pups – Why Exposure Matters! 🌟In today’s Puppy Foundations Class, we worked on a range of fun and engaging activities designed to build confidence and resilience in our pups, such as: 🐾 Puppies navigating different objects🐾 Riding skateboards🐾 Jumping over agility jumps🐾 Starting their scent detection journey. These types of exercises aren’t just adorable—they’re essential for a puppy’s development! Here’s why: ✅ Exposure during critical periods helps puppies learn that new sights, sounds, textures, and movements are safe and fun. This can prevent fear or anxiety later in life. ✅ Confidence-building activities like these teach puppies how to problem-solve and tackle challenges, which improves their ability to handle unfamiliar situations. ✅ Mental stimulation from scent detection and agility games helps tire out their busy brains while strengthening their bond with their humans. At this age, puppies are forming lifelong impressions of the world. Structured, positive experiences like these set the foundation for confident, well-rounded adult dogs. A huge shoutout to our superstar puppies and their amazing humans—your hard work is shaping resilient, happy companions for life! 🐶 👏Enjoy the reel and see the magic of learning through play in action! 🎥✨
