I don’t even know how to share this news but my little boy has crossed the rainbow bridge. Vito lived a good life and found joy in the simple things in life. Even though he suffered tremendously at the hands of others he still found a way to love and trust people.

My heart is broken but I know he’s running and jumping again with the other fur babies. Thank you for having an interest in this incredibly loving little guy.

Vito loves his Aunt Leslie and feels so comfortable there he’ll snooze sitting up. He was thoroughly enjoy his mini massage. Thank you for thinking of me Aunt Leslie…..I love my blankets and sweater. 💕

Vito is standing! We never believed the “specialists” when they said he had lost all feeling in his back legs and would be permanently paralyzed.

Vito had another outstanding visit with his doc. He graduated from a school that had animal rehabilitation and is so impressed with Vito’s progress that he’s looking at starting a rehab center. Vito will be his “trial dog” to see how the program evolves.

First he has to get permission from his clinic. 🙂. He’s “blown away” by his progress. Our little guy is a champ!

Vito had another outstanding appointment at the vets. He’s VERY certain he will walk again based on his reflexes. I’m doing range of motion exercise but certain the PEMF mat he’s on is making the difference for him.

Super excited to see his continued progress.

Not a fan of storms so we bundle him up. We had a few good cracks this morning and he’s been mellow all morning now.

Yesterday he had to get some of his yearly shots, which I’m not a fan of, so he’s been giving me the cold shoulder since yesterday.

Our little guy has such a personality!

Every day we pick a word to focus on. My first two days I picked forgiveness. That’s a big word for me after all that’s happened, but I’m working on it!

Someone is mad at us. No kisses and his ears have been pinned back most of the past day.

Vito got his teeth cleaned, front nails trimmed, and overdue shots. They put him to sleep to clean his teeth and when I went to pick him up I had to go get him out of his holding pen. Broke my heart to see him in a cage and he nipped at anyone who tried getting him out. He hobbled over to me with a loving look of being rescued but has definitely let me know he’s mad!

I’m not sure he’ll ever heal from the trauma he’s endured but we sure do try to make up for it.

Maybe no more teeth cleaning? 🥺

Vito had a trip to the vet a week ago. I was certain he had a UTI but his blood work looked great. His history has been frequent UTIs but so far we’re able to keep them away. The vet was very impressed with his numbers.

He is using one of his back legs more and kicking when it’s diaper changing time. I think he’s enjoying using his leg back leg a little more. It isn’t constant and we need to get his muscle stronger but it’s a start.

We’re taking a trip to Gainesville in 2 weeks to see what kind of therapy I can give him besides the PEMF mat, QE and massage. We did get a little pool so there will be some water therapy for him. Well, it’s more like a plastic pond than a pool.

I think he’s getting a little freaked out by some sensation coming back. He seems to enjoy sleeping ..... I think it’s a good thing. We heal when we sleep.

Sometimes he’s throwing him around but most of the time he snuggles up with him.
