The big red, or red giant kangaroo (Macropus rufus) is the largest not only among kangaroos and all marsupial species, but also among all mammals in Australia. The body length of adult males reaches 1.5 m (sometimes up to 2 m), and their weight is 85 kg (females are much smaller: their body length is 1.1 m, and their weight is about 35 kg). The tail of large red kangaroos can be 90-100 cm long. They have long, pointed ears, a wide muzzle, extremely powerful and muscular hind legs and tail. With the help of their hind legs, these animals move in jumps at a speed of up to 60 km/h, and in one jump they can overcome more than nine meters.
