I was the ultimate “barn rat” growing up, as a teen I spent every waking moment at the barn often doing “horse stuff” but just as often hanging about, socializing with riders of all ages, watching lessons, hand grazing horses and doing, well, sometimes nothing but being present, outdoors, in a place where I felt I belonged and mattered.

I am so glad we are defying statistics at Legacy and bringing back the Barn Rats - cheers to all the kids, teens and adults that are always game to volunteer, work, learn and lend a hand and make the barn community the best it can be!

Goodbye Buddy the Elf, you were our longest lasting holiday decoration and we salute you. I’ll miss you falling over 12 times a day (sorry about your elbows). It was interesting watching your feet slowing disintegrate as you lived too close to the wash rack. Congratulations on winning the stall decorating contest and farewell!
