Penelope loves to sleep under the covers just like a human and is not fond of being in a kennel at night. She does not want to live with other dogs, cats or children. Penelope sits at the door when she wants to go outside. She is a one person alpha girl who would make a great little companion!

This German Shepherd is in need of a reputable rescue and a committed foster.
He was apart of a hoarding case. All of the other dogs have found a plan, and now he’s the only one left in the abandoned home alone. 😞
He is located in Crockett, Tx.
📍Heartworm negative, not neutered, and has not received any vaccinations as of yet.
📍He is dog and human friendly. Hasn’t been cat tested yet. The video of him interacting with other dogs is below in the thread .

In need of a rescue and reliable foster for a perfectly healthy, female in need of a plan ASAP.
Location: Crockett, Texas.

There are zero shelters in this County. If owner isn’t found, finder will take to local vet and have euthanized. 😓
This sweet female was suspected to be dumped. Finders are unable to keep/ or foster.
She has been introduced to a male, German shepherd and is dog friendly with him.
Appears to be around 2 years old.
Any networking is appreciated!
I’m sure transportation can be figured out if a plan is found in the Houston area.🚗💭

THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT EUTHANASIA OR THE PEOPLE WHO PERFORM THE HORRIBLE TASK. IT'S ABOUT WHY IT EVEN HAPPENS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! THE DOGS PICTURED WERE HOPING THEIR OWNERS WOULD RETURN, BUT SADLY ARE NO LONGER WITH US.

“My family brought me home, all cradled in their arms. They cuddled me and smiled at me and said I was full of charm. They played with me and laughed with me and showered me with toys. I sure did love my family, especially the little girls and boys.”

“The children loved to feed me; they gave me special treats. They even let me sleep with them – all snuggled in the sheets. I used to go for walks, often several times a day. They even fought to hold the leash, I’m very proud to say.”

“These are the things I’ll not forget – a cherished memory. Now that I’m in the shelter – without my family. They used to laugh and praise me when I played with that old shoe. But I didn’t know the difference between the old one and the new.”

“The kids and I would grab a rag, for hours we would tug. So I thought I did the right thing when I chewed the bedroom rug. They said that I was out of control, and would have to live outside. This I didn’t understand, although I tried and tried.”

“The walks stopped, one by one, they said they hadn’t time. I wish that I could change things; I wish I knew my crime. My life became so lonely in the backyard, on a chain. I barked and barked all day long to keep from going insane.”

“So they brought me to the shelter but were embarrassed to say why. They said I caused an allergy, and then they each kissed me goodbye. If I’d only had some training when I was a little pup, I wouldn’t have been so hard to handle when I was all grown up.”

“‘You only have one day left, I heard the worker say. Does that mean I have a second chance? Do I go home today?”

This is what an unwanted dog looks like. We know this photo is hard to look at, but don’t look away. For 3-4 months, all anyone has ever done was looked away. Nobody noticed her 💔 she was probably invisible her entire existence.

This is a Doberman puppy who was born in Cleveland, Tx. Cleveland is one of the worst areas a dog could live in. There is no animal control, little education, no enforced laws, lots of breeders and a shelter that holds about 12 dogs. This is why we’ve been so focused on outreach programs in the area and offering free spays/neuters to owned pets.

Yesterday, we held an event and this puppy was brought to us by someone who had been feeding her. The blanket was put over her head by them because she was frightened and aggressive. She is a bit feral because she doesn’t know any different. She spent so long without human interaction that she doesn’t know a humans touch. All she knew was pain, loneliness and suffering.

So, meet Rain.

Rain’s life changed yesterday. We have a lot of work to do with her, but we’ll be there every step of the way. We will continue working in Cleveland preventing other dogs from living miserable lives like Rain had to endure.
