Good morning from Amelia-

Amelia was found ruining in traffic and luckily jumped into a good Samaritans truck.
She is a black lab mix and is approximately 11-12 months old and weighs 54 lbs.
She has been vetted and is now up to date on her shots.
She has no health issues.
She loves to play with other dogs - she plays appropriately and takes a submissive role to larger dogs.
She seems to tolerate kitties.
She can be very playful and also loves cuddling or being a couch potato. She easily entertains herself with her toys.
For only being 1 - she's learned what NO means and is easily redirected.
She doesn't pull on a leash and is learning to love walks. She occasionally just likes to lay down and enjoy the feel of the grass.
She has learned the basic commands: sit and come and is working on stay and down.
She is a very easy dog to care for and to fall in love with❤️

She is a Lab mix just under 1 year old and was found wandering the busy streets in Tampa. She was almost hit by a car and jumped into her savior's truck thank goodness!!
We had to teach her what grass was and what it felt like to be indoors.
She is sweet and loving. She is smart and playful. She gets along great with other dogs and is submissive she also tolerates kitties...
She's just perfect!!
She was a gem in the rough and now that she's polished she would love to find a forever home..

Sweet Little Dulce has her own forever home now!!!
Our family agreed to foster Dulce from our county shelter for two weeks and we extended that to eleven due to the pandemic.
Everyone who met Dulce fell in love with her. She taught us so many things: over the years we have Fostered many dogs: some were little princesses, some were deaf and we learned sign language, some were very sick and needed a place to heal, some I am blessed to still be a part of their lives, And one, named Dulce, taught us what Grace and independence is- She is very sure of herself and a confident old gal. We would’ve given anything to keep her but committed to another female who needed us seven years ago and it wouldn’t work having them both. So we are so very grateful to 4 Lucky Dugs a rescue who courtesy posted Our Dulce daily. They also worked with one of their longtime fosters Laura and introduced us. Taking Dulce There was not easy for me So I asked God to give me a sign if this was the right place for Dulce to be. And I was given sign after sign that Laura’s was the perfect home for Dulce to be. Dulce walked right up to Laura and she’s usually slow to warm up to people I also kept having a verse repeat over and over in my head while I was there. It was,”job well done Cindi , job well done” . And then on my GPS on the way home Siri kept saying the names of streets we were on and they were the names of streets that we have previously lived. I’m so very grateful to everyone that shared Dulce. Many of you shared every single post - you cared about her so much and I thank you. I also want to thank Ryan Menendez for the beautiful pictures he took of her all along the way. I want to thank Friends of Hillsborough County Animal Shelter and Rescue me Tampa for highlighting her on their FB pages. I want to thank my dear friend Lisa for offering a donation to help get Dulce a deluxe new bed and contribution to her future care. I want to thank Victoria Parker our longtime dog trainer who gave us advice all along the way. And I went to thank Diane Melnick for the cute costumes she shared with me to take Dulce’s pictures.
I especially want to thank Karen Bartram Goodrich and Dan Rapp - because when we had room to take in a foster from the shelter we just asked who needs us most? Dan chose Dulce for us- She was 13 1/2 and had already been at the shelter for 30 days and she was in serious trouble of making it out of there. You see ... rescuing takes a whole village and we belong to a great one!
To my friend Robin Marsh and my new friend Laura I just don’t know how I can ever thank you enough except to always help you take care of Dulce!!

Dulce he has been taken into rescue by 4 Lucky Dogs - Her future medical care and her food will always be given to her foster for life, Laura. by the rescue. This is Dulce looking out from behind locked glass doors - crying for my human presence...which she has to do several hours a day I brought her into my home as a sweet little 13-year-old foster from our high kill Pet Resource center Where she sat for 30 days with no interest of anyone to adopt her just simply because she’s 13 years old. I did not want to see her euthanized so I brought her into our warm loving home but she has to share that home with another female who is NOT accepting of newcomers due to her own abusive past..
I love on Dulce all that you can even imagine every two hours and then she has to go in her little private sanctuary for two hours so that we can take turns around here. Both girls are confused and sad when it’s not their turn to be with us...
I just totally believe with all of my heart that there is someone out there who will take a look at Dulce and say I would love to spend my time with this sweet little girl please share Dulce’s videos and photographs so that we can find that special person or a couple or family to just love Dulce for all the sweetness that she encompasses. We love her dearly and she is such a sweetheart she’s truly deserving of a home of her own
