In the time leading up to Christmas people often have a pre Christmas clear out , Children may discard some old toys to make space for the new ones that Santa will bring , you may get rid of household items

In animal rescue a “Christmas Clear Out” is much more upsetting .

Yesterday we were asked to help 8 stray rabbits. We don’t have space for 8 rabbits 😢 It is no coincidence that we’re getting near Christmas.

Maybe children were told they could have a new puppy this year if the rabbit goes or perhaps people are going away for Christmas and it’s easier to dump the rabbit than organise boarding

Do not dump your rabbits they can’t survive in the wild , do not teach your children that animals are disposable

Here's our Sunday night round up...! We hope you and all your buns are safe and snug with this awful weather.

As usual a massive thank you to all our transporters who give up their time and fuel to help bunnies get from A to B. This week was made up of a few, but long distance runs covering 877 miles in less than pleasant weather conditions!

Claire, Cathy and Sarah all helped transport liberated school bunnies Merry and Lark to their rescue spaces at The Bunnyjackpot Foundation

Pam and Pete, Gemma and Bruce all did long drives to get Squiddly and Diddly into their rescue spaces at Carrot Cottage Rabbit Rescue and a big thank you to Pam who was able to get them vaccinated for us whilst they had a little stay with her!

Sarah got our gorgeous foster Albie to The Bunnyjackpot Foundation where he has already met a new friend and hopped off to his new home, and Sarah also supported the Bunnyjackpot with rescue to rescue transport for a bunny struggling to find the right friend.

Katherine took foster girls Evie and Ellie to their rescue space with Pawz for Thought. The girls were spayed whilst with us and we were very lucky that their bond stayed firm!

Our gorgeous special boy Benji hopped off to the very special Parsleys Warren who we know will give him the best expert care that he will need for the rest of his life. We're especially grateful to Twigs and Steve for picking him up personally.

We welcomed the beautiful Minx into foster with us.

Tilty boy Tyler leaves foster Mum Sarah a bit baffled with his sporadically wet face, but despite the vet trip, remains the sweetest fluff ball going who loves a head rub!

Meds time is the easiest time to see Tyler’s downwards facing side as he adores his meds!

As you can see his face is fully dry again with no sign of dribble or discharge. His weight appears stable too, so last weeks blip remains a mystery. Don’t tell him but if he continues like this he can start the New Year with a castration 🤣

Our beautiful Tyler has woken with a weeping eye this morning. It’s his downwards facing eye so unsure if he’s bashed it or poked it. He has a vets appointment later this morning. I’ll put pics on comments so those who wish to avoid can. 🐰❤️

Bertie and Gertie have written their Christmas list. They love their foster home, but they’d really like Santa to line up a new home for them to start 2025 in. They are the sweetest pair. Bertie is 4 & Gertie is 6. While they do love a good snooze, they’re also great fun- they come running for their treats, love to hop about all the levels in their pen, and help foster Mum unpack all the goodies she buys for them. Gertie only has 1 eye, but that doesn’t stop her! We know there must be a perfect home out there for these two- please get in touch with us if you think it might be you!!
