**** Help Petey Find His Forever Home ****
Hi everyone! Remember me from last year? It's been one heck of a past few months. It all started in August-- I don't know what hit me, but I ended up in a field where a nice lady named, Kelly, came to help me. My back leg wouldn't hold my weight and I was stuck there doing my best to fend for myself. Good thing she came. I was about to give up.
She called the officers at Guadalupe County Animal Control to come save me. She said I was so sweet and happy in spite of my injury. They couldn't get me at first, but Kelly didn't give up until I was safe.
The volunteers, Ms. Karin and Ms. Susan, saw how bad my injury was and contacted a Voice for Animals rescue. They didn't hesitate and accepted me right away. Before I knew it, they had an experienced foster for me (Ms. Darlene) and I was in surgery before I could say, "thank you for saving my life."
I had a very big surgery called femoral head ostectomy (FHO). Turns out I also had a dislocated femur. Whatever hit me, hit me pretty hard.
Well, it's been quite a journey from being another injured dog left in a field with pretty grim prospects to a happy guy well on his way to recovery.
Now I'm ready for my forever home. I'm all caught up on my vetting. Got neutered and all my shots. My new foster mom, Ms. Traci, says I'm the happiest guy who loves everyone. I'm gentle and sweet and an inspiration to people who know how far I've come in a short period of time.
Everyone along the line took such good care of me to prepare me for this moment in time. Please help me find my forever home.
I'm a really special boy. I even have my own page here https://www.facebook.com/PeteyWantsAHome/
You can look there to follow my entire journey from the field to today. There's even a video of me there that shows how well I'm walking now.
You can PM this page if you have questions about me or you can apply to adopt me here https://airtable.com/shrPxZ5NfIVMXt5Pk
Please share my story. Maybe it will touch someone's heart and they will welcome me in.
Thank you,
Petey
