The Power of Raising Conscious Dogs 🙏🏻

When your animal companion is raised in a way that maintains a regulated nervous system, they learn to control their impulsive nature. Throughout the years, all my dogs – including fosters – have learned to coexist peacefully with my rodents, birds, and other animals.

🌪️ In the natural world, a tornado unfolds as a majestic expression of the ever-changing environment ⛈️. Its swirling winds and dynamic presence are a testament to the intricate dance between atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity. The tornado doesn't exist independently; it's an embodiment of the complex interplay between the earth, air, and water.

Similarly, our dogs are not separate entities; they're living, breathing expressions of their environment, instincts, and emotions 🐾. Their behavior, like the tornado, is shaped by a complex array of factors. When we try to change or control our dogs without understanding what drives them, we failed to see the bigger picture and instead of working with nature, we work against it.

So let’s make a commitment this year, to comprehend the intricate web of factors that influence their behavior 🐾. By doing so, we may uncover a profound truth: our dogs are an extension of the natural world, and our connection with them can deepen our understanding of ourselves and the world around us 🌿.

Always remember, animals are here to teach us a lot more than we are here to teach them🙏🏻.

🎄🎅️ HAPPY HOLIDAYS! 🎅️🎄

Here are some tips to help your dog through the crazy holiday gatherings 🎉- I’m heading out to start #1 and already did #5 this morning! ☕️

1.) Drain their energy more than normal before anyone arrives 🏃‍♂️.

2.) Set up a quiet area for your dog to retreat 🛋️.

3.) Provide special chews for them to cope with the stress 🍪.

4.) Use sound machines to drown the chaos 🎧.

5.) Pre freeze high value frozen enrichments to promote licking which triggers a natural calming reaction in the body ❄️. This can be a good 1-2hr enrichment depending on the size! 🐾

6.) Encourage your guests to ignore your dogs and only engage when the energy is low 🙅‍♂️. This is so important!! 🙏

7.) For nervous dogs, ask your guests to ignore your dog for the entire event 🙅‍♂️. Just having the commotion and high stimulation of the guests energy in the house is enough for them to handle 😬.

8.) If things escalate remove your dog from the guests and put them in a peaceful room with a tv, chew, frozen enrichment, toy, extra comfy space 🛋️. If they do not do well away from you, put a leash on them and help them navigate the event by your side 🐾.

9.) Use a Thundercoat to help the body relax 😴.

10.) Most importantly, be understanding and empathetic! 🐾❤️

It has been 1 year and 1 day since I lost my sweet Bruno.

Last birthday I was mourning the loss of him, and this year I have my sweet Dobby at the movies with me, and couldn’t imagine my life any other way.

When something devastating happens, there is always a greater purpose.

Since Bruno passed away I have adopted 5 new special animal souls into my life and I know they were all sent by him, to me, for a purpose greater than us all.

There is alway light in the darkness. It’s just hard to see sometimes 🙏🏻.
