He’s finally arrived!
Introducing our first purebred Clydesdale, a beautiful bay c**t we’ve named Jinx.
Roxy was a superstar, she wasn’t herself for most of the day, how do I know this? She wasn’t eating! 🤣 Late in the afternoon she wouldnt come up for her favorite Lucerne so I made sure to check her more frequently.
I checked her just after 8pm & she was hiding in the back of paddock, she was happy where it was quiet & wasn’t interested in pats or scratches so I didn’t bother her. I had a weird gut feeling around 9pm so headed out to Roxy again, as I approached her she whinnied out and then I heard a foal whinny, I turned the torch on and there he was, he could’ve only been no more than 30mins old.
Placenta & umbilical cord looked good, we milked Roxy, tested her colostrum and it scored 20 and was still rising.
Jinx was great at getting up just needed a little assistance from us to steady himself and get on the teat, expelled meconium, had a snooze and repeated 2 times in the hour, each time getting stronger and stronger.
A massive thankyou to Geoff & Terri from Terra-Lyn Clydesdales the most amazing mentors and support team, Geoff came out straight away last night to give us support and make sure everything was going smoothly. ❤️

Roxy is now well and truly within her due date & has given me several false alarms, it’s truly amazing the the difference in one mare to another, some are text book others are great at holding onto key indicators right to the last minute.
She’s looking fantastic and so she should with the amount of feed this girl eats 💕
We have great support from our local vets and they are ready to come out if needed, let’s go Roxy!

Zuki has a new name .. Copper, I think it suits him perfectly. He got to spend time with his new owner today. I got the giggles as he literally buried himself into the lady's neck and just loved all over her, it was one of those 'omg so cute' moments. Copper will have a makeover on Friday ready for pickup to his new home. He has a furry friend waiting for him & he is going to have a great life, Im so happy for them all 💙 Congrats Lauren, Copper & family.

Beautiful Jag now renamed to Raff has left on his long journey to his new home with his forever family. Seeing as they are interstate we FaceTimed and made sure Raff was the fluff ball they were searching for. When they drive over 11hrs to personally pick up their new family member I think that’s more than enough reassurance he’s got a great home.
I was able to watch them interact with him & it was perfect, he just loved on them all, best part is they have a young daughter so they will form a lovely bond. These are the pics I took for them yesterday.

Jersey delivered a beautiful 3/4 Clydesdale buckskin paint Filly 2 weeks ago!
I arrived home from a dinner in town to see Jersey standing there with 8 legs. It took me a minute to realise shes had her foal.
The foal was still wet and looked to have just stood up, she was looking for the teat straight away.
I sat in the paddock with them until 5am to make sure Jersey was ok and that the filly was feeding, passed meconium, slept and stood again to feed.
Jersey retained her placenta a little longer than I hoped for but after she had a lay down/rest she wiggled and squirmed then up she got and out came the placenta. Everything looked good, Jersey was eating, drinking and toileting fine so off to bed I went.
For now we are calling her Minnie 💕
