Once connected with the doodle, I noticed his energy was low and asked him, "What's going on?" Immediately I was pulled to dark areas in his groin and under his tail. He was aware of them and had resolved himself to what lay ahead. When I told the human, I reminded her that he wasn't ready to go and that he may change his mind, so don't give up hope. See him as youthful and healthy, not as his diagnosis. The doodle said, "Don't worry about me. I'm still okay," wanting to live his life as he always had. The human agreed to support him in that.

I have been thinking about my horse Pl***oy lately, who's been gone for many years now. He was sweet, easygoing, and patient, and it seemed like something went wrong every month, but he became one of the greatest healing teachers I've ever had. Without him, I may not have continued my education in healing modalities and natural remedies. I owe him a debt of gratitude and still miss him.

Next door, the sweet little shih tzu was laboring to climb the steep incline to the house, undetected by his humans. He barked at them, "Pick me up, pick me up!" but was ignored. The small dog then sat down in protest, causing a tug on the leash that his humans couldn't ignore. They looked at him, and he barked again angrily, "Pick me up!" He was scooped up and carried the rest of the way. Determination wins the day!

The gelding was frazzled and worked himself into a sweat trying to please his human. "What does he want me to do?" the horse asked. I explained to the human that this horse was smart, wanted to please, and kept trying to get things right. We talked at length about alternative approaches to training, helping the horse to understand and feel better about himself. I shared the new ideas with the horse, who was relieved (as was I for him) to know that help was coming.

While driving down a back road, I came to a stop at a crossroads and tried to decide which way to go. When I looked to the left, I heard "Not that way," from a crow perched on a tree branch over the road. "Why?" I questioned. "It's not for you," he replied. "How so?" I continued. "It's not as compatible for you," he said. So, trusting in his wisdom, I took the road to the right, where I discovered pastures full of horses grazing. Heaven! Thank you, Mr. Crow!
