Henrietta and Pennie rocking the polka dots today!
Cuteness and sass abound with Bubblicious and Henrietta, two of our tiny senior ladies.
Henrietta napping before the big game!
Beautiful work
Hahaha
I’m always telling people, make your treats go a long way. They don’t need all the extra calories or richness of many treats. Break off tiny pieces. They aren’t like kids who keep score, they don’t feel like you’re holding out on them😂😉❤️. They know we still have treats, but if asked wouldn’t be able to tell you whether you have whole treats or pieces😉.
Update: Our precious April Rain crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Monday, 1/22/24. We are grieving for this precious girl, but know she is healed and running and playing. Until we meet again, sweet girl. You will always be in our hearts.
April Rain has been with us for about 2 years now. She is the most precious 5.8 # older Chihuahua. April Rain came to us with a serious heart condition, horrible teeth, and a mammary tumor. Due to her heart, we could not remove the tumor or undertake a dental. Unfortunately, it was discovered last fall that her cancer had metastasized to her lung. Fortunately, for now, she is not coughing, taking her heart meds, taking a holistic mushroom supplement, and eating well. Once a month, we do a round of antibiotics for her teeth. If April Rain had been spayed when she was younger, her chances of a cancerous mammary tumor would have been greatly diminished. We love her dearly and cherish every moment she is here with us. She sleeps under the covers on Pennie's left side every night. This is her favorite spot.
Louise is snuggling in bed this Saturday morning practicing for the cold weather that is on the way!
UPDATE: REUNITED!! Gretel is home safe & sound after 16 days, 15 hours :)
"Thank you so much for the neighbors at Sunset,Balmoral and lower Brow for their support in searching for lost Gretel. After 16 days, snow, 6 degree temps she has been found safe and sound. Praise God for miracles thank you all for your support. Kim and David. "

Amelia has decided after 2 years with us to go to work with Pennie. She gets so excited in the morning and bounces to the car!
Christmas is here, and it's time for Jim to update the video of the dogs for 2023! This year went by in the blink of an eye, in which we added several, and we helped several cross the rainbow bridge. Perhaps the most devasting was the loss of our precious tiny Edwina; rarely, a day goes by that we don't think of her as well as all the wonderful souls that have crossed our path. In some small way, we hope that the care we give and the love we share make their lives better.
Please enjoy our video of ALL the dogs at Paw-ways Loved. It's truly a blessing to be able to save and care for so many.
Breaks my heart
💔🐾💔🐾💔
“No more lonely cold nights or hearing that I'm bad
No more growling belly from the meals I never had.
No more scorching sunshine with a water bowl that's dry.
No more complaining neighbors about the noise when I cry.
No more hearing "shut up", "get down" or "get out of here"!
No more feeling disliked, only peace is in the air.
Euthanasia is a blessing, though some still can't see
Why I was ever born If I weren't meant to be.
My last day of living was the best I ever had.
Someone held me very close; I could see she was very sad.
I kissed the lady's face, and she hugged me as she cried.
I wagged my tail to thank her, and then I closed my eyes and died……"

Yesterday Amelia had her yearly exam celebrated her 2nd gotcha day, and celebrated Mom's 70th birthday. She lost an eye last year and her other eye is covered by a cataract. She is a trooper and her lack of sight does not bother her at all. Although when she knows I am home she has to be right by my side. Love this sweet, pretty girl.
ChiChi Marie loves to come to work and hang out with Amanda!
LB Squeakins Happy Halloween 🎃
This precious little Yorkie has been with Paw-ways Loved for about 3 weeks now. She is a fiesty 11 years young, and you would never know she is blind. She came with the name Chi Chi, and we added Marie. Chi Chi Marie is a smart girl, and we officially welcome her to our sanctuary family.
I need a chuckle today. I hope this brings you one too!
We are grieving over the passing of our sweet, gentle 17-year-old Beagle, Buddy Butterball. Rescued from the Rhea County Shelter, he was a part of our family for 11 years. Everyone loved Buddy, even those who didn't favor dogs; they all loved him. He had a good life and made his way over the Rainbow Bridge with his nose to the ground and his tail wagging.

Paw-Ways Loved is so thankful for the support we receive from far and near. Our mission would not be possible without the generosity of some exceptional people. Thank you to Jill Hendrick, Rose Malloy, Christine Rodgers Goff, Patricia Brewer, Sharon Akins, LaDonna Goff, Sarah Goff, Haberdash Hounds, and others who continue to donate to our cause. We would also like to thank our fellow rescue partners, East Tennessee Alliance for Animals, Australian Shepherds Furever, Southern Shih Tzu Rescue (Division of Harlee's Angels), Maringa Animal Sanctuary at Freedom Farm, and Animal Shelter Alliance of Rhea for the beautiful spirit of cooperation between all of us dedicated to rescue.
The Rhea County shelter contacted us about this precious girl. Rescued from a horrible puppy mill a few years back, her family surrendered her to the shelter. It seems she may have had some issues with the new human baby. Six-year-old Juno was shutting down at the shelter but is thriving here at Paw-Ways Loved. We are calling her our sweet June Bug!!
18-year-old Christy has settled in beautifully here at @Paw-Ways Loved and anxiously awaits her dinner!
Please enjoy our latest video update of all our family here at PWL. 2022 was a good year for PWL, a lot of new rescues but we lost several including Cosby and Quentin after 10 years, and once they are gone it does seem like the blink of an eye. Love never dies for our paws while they are with us and after they have crossed the bridge. Thank you all for the support of our seniors! ~enjoy Jim
Zach, the newest rescued beagle, sure was shy and scared when he first arrived. Now he's out playing with Lucy and Bizzy having a good ole time 😃
The season for giving has arrived, and Paw-Ways Loved: A Senior Canine Sanctuary would love to be on your list! Any amount donated goes to vetting and feeding. Can you imagine taking care of just one pet, let alone 43? Please enjoy the video of our current residents and the ones who have crossed the bridge. Paw-Ways Loved wishes all a wonderful holiday season and a healthy and happy new year. For Giving Tuesday please keep us in mind. #GivingTuesday #GivingTuesday2021
