Hello, I have created this page to help offset the cost of Bella’s upcoming surgery to remove a tumor. Back in January she was diagnosed with Presumptive Adenocarcinoma - Thyroid. The surgery is estimated between $3,600-$4,700 but we really don’t have a definitive cost due to the nature of the surgery and her after care. We have been doing day care and regularly scheduled visits to get her used to not being in my care 24/7 and being comfortable with her surgery and after care staff. We have an appointment mid April to hopefully discuss a surgery date (fingers crossed we can get this take care of some time in May).
A little about her tumor. It started as something small in March of last year. Due to COVID and needing to see a new vet, I was not able to get Bella in to see the vet until June. The vet stated it was something that could be common and May end up
Going away soon. So I really didn’t think anything of it. Around October, I noticed it had doubled in size, and now was about the size of a golf ball so I made her a new appointment. The tumor was aspirated and sent off to a lab, but didn’t really have enough cells in it to determine what exactly we were dealing with. I was referred to a couple of different specialists and finally decided that I really liked Auburn Veterinary Specialist. We had a CT scan done, blood work, X-rays and a few other things done (it was a lot and it was a really long day for us.) Once they were finished with everything, the doctor let us know the results. This type of tumor tends to be cancerous and my whole fear was that it had spread and there wasn’t anything else we could do. Luckily, her blood work came back great. Her X-rays and CT scan showed that it had not spread any where. So now are on the track of scheduling surgery to get this removed before it does spread.
We will be posting things for sale (homemade, all dog related😜) items. Stay tuned.
