I have been experiencing some sudden deaths of cockatiels chicks still in nests which were about soon to fledge.

Today I had been lucky enough to notice that all of this is coming only because of the cold weather that had been with us for the last week or so.

Picked these beauties today from their nests, almost dead, and am keeping them warm, and started the hand feeding process.

It is not always smooth sailing, however, always ready to make the best for our feathered friends!

Breakfast is served 🦜🦜

Any birds diet should consist of 75% soft food and 25% seeds, only for better health and also the plumage of the birds they will look much more groomed and nice.

Today I have provided;

1 whole Carrot 🥕
1/2 a Broccoli 🥦
Few Parsley leaves 🥗
1 Whole lemon (including peel and juice) 🍋
1 Hard boild egg (Including shell) 🥚

In this order I have provided greens that will allow the birds to get Calcium, Vitamin C and Antioxidants that our feathered friends require.

From a nest box of two, now is a nest box of 4 ‼️‼️ My hobby is definitely one that requires time and a lot of patience. This breeding season has not been one of the best as I was still managing & pairing up birds, but when I see this, I forget everything ‼️ My first time breeding the Exhibition budgie type 🤩 It took patience, time, alot of vegetables and meal preps, cleaning , but very satisfied to say the least ❣️ Also thanks alot for the 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ likes ❤️❤️ Will we be seeing more babies from the Kakariki’s, Cockatiels & the Eastern Rosellas ? The Aviary 🦜

Cold morning in the aviary 🥶 Feeding is all ready, and the birds are enjoying their meals. Gave some fruits and veggies for the day for them to enjoy and nibble on. The budgies are doing very good throughout this breeding season. Raised 9 babies so far in only one month of the breeding season. The young couple of kakarikis are doing great nibble on anything I provide and giving them time to bond as much as possible before providing them a nesting box 🦜❤️🦜 A new lady cockatiel had been introduced to the cockatiel cage and seems like they already like each other as they spend the majority of the day next to each other 😍 What is coming next to the aviary in the coming weeks ? Another Native Australian pair soon to land in the aviary ❣️🇳🇿 Have a lovely weekend bird lovers from the Aviary 🦜🦜

Morning bath 🚿 In the aviary I love to give my birds a bowl full of fresh water just to have a dip in fresh water. This will allow the birds to clean themselves, especially in summer time to freshen up, and it is also play time for the birds themselves. Great diet is not enough, we focus a lot on the diet but need to make it a point that our birds are also happy ‼️ New week, Happy Monday everyone 🦜🦜
