Its been 3 days since surgery.
I'm blown away with how Ruby is recovering, her tail is still very tender and she will let out a cry when accidently knocked against something.
Ruby is still having her 10 min wanders however they're now turning into zoomies 😳 she is due a check up on Monday so we won't tell the vet that's she been doing that 🤫

Remember the vet said Ruby was allowed a 10 min wander? What better way to do this than borrow a paddock so Ruby could chill and the boys could run around without me stressing over them and they were still able to have their exercise

What a huge difference from yesterday! You wouldn't think 2 days ago Ruby went in for huge surgical procedures and also worried us yesterday. They certainly keep us on our toes

Ok so it's not the best video, my voice is awful and my hallway is absolutely battered from four legged traffic BUT......
This is the wag we have all been waiting for!
Ruby is allowed to go out for an on lead walk for 10 minutes maximum to stretch her legs which is great news because she won't 💩 in the garden. Ruby has certainly perked up since this morning and is now keeping water down ❤️

Its been 45 mins since Ruby drank some water....... this is the longest she's kept anything down this morning so hopefully the vet was right and the drugs are wearing off 🤞

UPDATE......
Just off the phone to the vet, he has said that if she is sitting in the sun ( she is) and also wagging her tail ( stump) then the likelihood is that she's having a reaction to the pain killer that was injected yesterday or the aneasthetic, he has advised to feed tomorrow morning.
I won't be administering any liquid pain killer to her, we will start her on paracetamol instead ( as advised by the vet).
There would be an emergency out of hours charge if he was to see her today which would increase the bill further. I am to call back if she deteriorates however at this moment in time she is alert in her favourite spot in the garden.

We've had a pretty bad night and morning.
Ruby sadly hasn't managed to keep any food or water down through the night and unfortunately the same is happening this morning. She has refused food completely this morning and only drank water which hasn't stayed down.
I will be contacting the vets if she's sick anymore in the next hour ❤️

The total amount raised for Rubys fund..... an amazing £1027.09
I have attached the invoice which gives an itemised breakdown of the tail amputation only and also the receipt from yesterdays appointment. Ruby does need another visit to the vet to check her stitches and to make sure the antibiotics are working.
As I said on the go fund me page anything raised above the target amount will be donated towards an animal charities vetinary bill so I will of course provide proof of that also.
( I have scribbled my address out for obvious reasons)

" hey everyone..... im so glad to be home! I've had some dinner and lots of sleep. This vet bed is my favourite place to be, I can't get comfortable anywhere else right now. I have antibiotics to take for the next 7 days due to the infection that was taking hold so best to keep treating that.
As you can see my tail has been amputated quite far down because of the infection...... I can still wag 😉 I'm sure mum will get a video when I'm feeling upto it. The vet very kindly spayed me while I was sleeping, he said it would be best so I didn't have to go through it all again.
I was a very good girl and everyone in the surgery loved me so much ❤️
I s**t everywhere! I held it in this morning and then really let it all go, they had never seen so much come from one dog 🤣

Lastly I want to thank every single one of you that donated, liked, commented and shared! Without you my mum couldn't have done it alone and I may not be here. I owe lots of smushes so please stop and say hi when you see me. We will keep updating as I recover "

Hey everyone just a quick update! It's been a long old day!
I'm just off the phone to the vet.

Rubys surgery has gone well they have removed her tail successfully, she is just off the table so waking up slowly. I can collect her at 5pm.

To say last night was the most uncomfortable night we've ever had would be an understatement! Ruby woke me up at 2am because once she sits up she can't work out how to lay back down with her sky dish 🤣 so the rest of the night was spent with her crushing me.

You have all bought a piece of Rubys heart. Thank you just doesn't feel like enough I just don't know what to say.
The generosity of everyone is truly overwhelming and from people that I have never seen or spoken to in my life.

" hey everyone Ruby doo here...... im not doing so well. I've been a bit of a silly girl and chewed my already broken tail and it's infected to the point my tail is dying. That blasted vet really hurt me when he looked at it! Mum cuddled me lots though. The decision has been made to have emergency surgery tomorrow morning at 9am. The picture below is Ruby, (isnt she just stunning!), a beautiful pup that is living in pain right now due to having 'a Happy tail'.. yes you heard that right! Putting it simply, she is in agonising pain every time she wags her tail, meaning every time she sees her amazing mum or human brother, her happiness is turned into pain 😭
She needs veterinary treatment to fix this and I need your help, to help her!

I have managed to get Ruby in to see Matt at the kettering vets today so he can hopefully make her more comfortable and also hopefully bring Rubys operation forward 🤞

Sadly Rubys tail isn really taking a hit now. We are now at risk of infection
I will call the vet again tomorrow and ask that she be seen to see if they can wrap the tail better than I can 💔

We have hit over 75% of the target 😭🥰

Rubys operation is confirmed for the 27th June, she is also on the cancellation list 🤞

I would like to add that anything raised above and beyond will be donated to a local animal charity that help dogs in similar situations to our Ruby.

Managed to finally wrap Rubys tail..... which means she has stopped chewing it any further for now 🙌
