Here is today's post from Dr. Becker. I believe kibble caused Pancreatitis in my sweet Jolene. I was making her a home cooked diet and she was fine but under weight. A Veternarian recommended I supplement with kibble and this is when her problems started.
I am looking forward to my next 2 classes... "Canine Nutrition" and "Diet Formulation". Home cooked meals are fantastic for dogs but they need to be balanced for proper health and weight.

I completed my Certification in Pet Nutrition today. I am excited to continue learning about Canine Nutrition, Health and Enrichment. I look forward to using this information to help other Pet Parents 🐶❤

A heartbreaking story was just posted in one of my Facebook Groups. This treat was included in The Bark Box which is a monthly subscription box for dogs. The dog was healthy but after eating the chew he died a horrible death within 24 hours. I will be doing more research on food and treats but in the meantime you can search jerky treats on fda.gov to see all the reports of dogs who have been affected.

Jolene was recently diagnosed with Pancreatitis.
I have been researching the best ways to feed and care for her. The subject of Canine Nutrition has really caught my interest. I am going to pursue a career as a Certified Canine Nutrition Specialist.
