Meet Lyla 💕 4.5 months | Pyr mix | Adoptable through GPAT

If you’re looking for a pup who’s equal parts goofball, cuddle bug, and adventure buddy, Lyla might just be your girl.

She’s still a baby, but this sweet girl already has a big heart and even bigger zoomies. Lyla lives for walkies, sunshine, and exploring the world around her—though loud noises still give her pause. (Brave explorer, but hey, garbage trucks are scary.)

Meet Irving—our high-energy, goofy sweetheart who’s just over 2 years old and always down for an adventure.

This guy is:

**Meet Harper 💛 Mama. Survivor. Pyr with a plan.**

Harper was found on the streets doing what Great Pyrenees do best—protecting. In her case, it was her two tiny puppies, Lyla and Bodhi. Bodhi has since been adopted, Lyla is still searching for her perfect match… and Harper? She’s finally ready to be someone’s baby.

Harper is 100% Pyr:

💥 Big opinions on food, fences, and furniture
🛏️ Not a fan of crates or dog beds (RIP to several)

She’s bonded hard with her foster sister Athena and plays with full Pyr intensity. She guards her meals, digs like she’s looking for oil, and has a bark that’ll keep the whole block in line. She’s also affectionate, hilarious, and putting on some much-needed weight!

4 months old. 100% floof. 98% sass. 2% tolerance for your bedtime cuddles.

Elise’s got a resting smirk and she knows it. She’s dog-friendly, potty trained (bell ringer alert 🚨), and sleeps like a dream… as long as you don’t interrupt her beauty rest.

She’ll happily patrol the yard, bark at leaf blowers like they owe her money, and remind you that she’s the boss of all things belly rub related. Morning snuggles? Yes. Evening affection? Only on her terms, peasant.

Fostering a dog is one of the most selfless and powerful acts of love. 🫶

Sometimes a foster pup is with you for a few days, sometimes for a few months, but the impact you make lasts forever.

Many of our dogs come from the streets, shelters, or were surrendered by families they thought would love them for life. When they arrive, they’re often scared, confused, and shut down. A foster home is where they learn to feel safe again. To trust. To play. To potty outside. To sleep peacefully in a crate. Sometimes it's where they heal from wounds, physical and emotional.

Fostering doesn’t require a lifelong commitment, just a willingness to love and care for a dog in need. At GPAT, we provide food, vet care, and meds, your job is simply to open your heart and home.

🌸 Meet Donna: Your Future Couch Companion and Yard Prancer Extraordinaire 🌸

Donna is around 1.5–2 years old and just figuring out that life can be really, really good. She's dog-friendly (she’s all about making friends, not running the show), potty trained, and crate trained—but given the choice, she’ll opt for a cozy dog bed or the cool floor.

Her energy? Right in the sweet spot. She's playful and loves a good prance around the yard, especially with her dog friends (or, you know, any deer that happen to wander by). But once she’s had her fun, she’ll come find your lap for a quiet moment and some pets. That head-in-lap move? She’s got it down.

She’s still learning that new people aren’t scary, and the leash… well, we’ll call that a “work in progress.” She sits down like a protestor for peace. But say her name and she’ll come trotting over like you’re the best thing that’s happened to her all day.

Donna is incredibly sweet and sensitive—when her foster family left town, she missed them so much she barely wanted to go outside. (Don’t worry, she bounced back the moment they returned!)

🐾 Meet Charlie “BOP” – Big Old Pooch, Bigger Heart 🐾

Charlie BOP (that’s short for Big Old Pooch) is 4 years old pyr mix and navigating a new chapter after a heartbreaking loss, his beloved owner passed away. He’s currently being cared for by a loving foster, and now he’s ready to find his forever home.

Charlie is all heart. He loves all humans—big, small, tiny—and greets each day with tail wags, happy sounds, and a signature move: two paws on your shoulders and a kiss on your face.

He’s:
✔️ Dog-friendly with slow introductions (prefers calm company)
✖️ Not cat-approved
✔️ Great with kids and adults alike
✔️ Housebroken and prefers dog beds to crates
✔️ Mid-energy – loves walks but doesn’t do zoomies
✔️ Treat motivated, loves fluffy toys (but doesn't fetch)
✔️ Vocal when happy and makes the funniest sounds when he wants affection

He knows “No,” “Yes,” “Come,” and “Down”—and he’s still working on his counter-surfing habits (don’t leave snacks unattended!). He’s not a fan of thunderstorms or water, but give him a walk and a comfy spot, and he’s a content boy.

Charlie will need a little patience as he adjusts to new routines and a new family. He’s a gentle soul who bonds deeply, and once he settles in, he’ll be the kind of companion that stays close—literally and emotionally.

🐾Brock: Big Personality, Bigger Heart 🐾

At just under 2 years old, Brock is still very much a puppy—with all the energy, curiosity, and goofy charm that comes with it. He’s affectionate, intelligent, and fiercely loyal, but also needs an adopter who understands that a big personality comes with big responsibilities.

Brock is:
✔️ Dog-selective – he does well with female dogs or smaller, respectful males
✔️ Good with cats
✔️ Kid-friendly with older, considerate kids
✔️ Leash trained, crate trained, and great in the car
✔️ A protective cuddlebug who loves belly rubs and face kisses

He starts every morning with his signature “paws-on-shoulders” hug, a full face lick, and a tail wag that means business. He’s playful, vocal, and super loving—but he’s also a work in progress. Brock is easily distracted around other dogs and still has the occasional puppy outburst, so continued structure and leadership are a must.

His ideal home? One with:
🏡 A strong, confident handler
🐕 Female dogs or chill small males
💤 A comfy crate and a solid daily routine
💛 Someone who can keep up with his energy and return the love tenfold

To the parents who didn’t plan for this—
but said yes anyway. ❤️🐾

Today is Parent Appreciation Day, and at GPAT, we’re lucky to know some of the best kind:
The fosters who open their homes to a dog in need, no guarantees, no finish line, just love and a soft place to land.
And the adopters who make it official, the ones who meet that goofy, gentle giant and say, “You’re mine, forever.”

Whether you're there for a season or a lifetime, you are everything to these dogs. You teach them trust. You show them joy. You give them a chance.

Some of you cry at goodbye.
Some of you cry at gotcha day.
(Okay, a lot of us cry either way.)

But every single one of you is a hero in a floofy cape.

To all the temp moms, bonus dads, rescue aunties, and forever families:
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for loving hard.
Thank you for being the parent they didn’t know they needed.

🍦 It’s National Ice Cream Day—because humans shouldn’t be the only ones living their best frozen treat life.

Here’s a pup-approved recipe you can make at home:
🐶 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
🍌 2 ripe bananas (frozen)
🥜 1–2 tbsp natural peanut butter (no xylitol!)

Blend until smooth and creamy. Serve as soft-serve or freeze for a firmer scoop. Optional: top with a treat if you’re feeling fancy.

Warning: expect drool. And possibly judgmental side-eye if you don’t share.
