A lovely day for a blessing.

Irving attended the Blessing of the Animals this morning and was such a good boy!

He’s about 2 years old, plays well with other dogs, and stays calm in new settings. As everyone saw today, he’s happy to meet and greet both people and pups alike.

Adopt Irving — this freckle-faced pup weighs about 80 lbs (with a little room to fill out). He’s lanky, super sweet, and a great listener.

🐾 Blessing of the Animals – This Saturday! 🐾

Join us in the Rice Village Campus Courtyard this Saturday, October 4 at 10:30 a.m. for Christ the King Lutheran Church’s annual Blessing of the Animals.

📍 2353 Rice Blvd, Houston
🚗 Free parking is available on Rice campus just south of the church. Enter from University or Greenbriar (use 5650 Greenbriar Dr, 77005 for maps).

GPAT’s very own Irving and Yeti will be there looking for their forever homes. Come meet these big, lovable floofs and of course bring your own furry family member to receive their special blessing.

✨ It’s a beautiful tradition, and an even better excuse to spend the morning with wagging tails and boopable noses. We can’t wait to see you there!

🌿 Charlie is still looking for his forever home! 🌿

Cool mornings are this boy’s favorite. You’ll find him lounging in the breeze with his eyes locked on the birds—ever hopeful he might catch one someday. (Spoiler: the birds are winning. 🐦)

Charlie is 4 years old, housebroken, mid-energy, and absolutely loves people. He’s affectionate, funny, and full of Pyr personality. He does well with other dogs given a proper intro, but he’s not a fan of cats.

This gentle giant is ready for a family who appreciates morning walks, a good cuddle, and his silly zig-zag leash adventures.

Miss Donna found the best seat in the house… right on her foster family’s couch. Once she settled in, she decided she wasn’t going anywhere—and now it’s official.

We’re so happy to announce Donna has been adopted by her foster family! Their pack is finally complete, and her spot on the couch is permanent.

A huge thank-you to this family for their years of fostering with GPAT and now giving Donna her forever home. ❤️

(And yes, they tried for a family photo with all three pups. The dogs had other ideas. 😂)

✨ Adopted! ✨

Our sweet girl Sequoia has found her forever family and a brand new name to go with it—Sadie!

She didn’t just get a loving home; she also gained an older fur brother who is already showing her the ropes. We couldn’t be happier knowing she’ll be learning, playing, and snuggling under his watchful eye.

A huge thank you to her amazing fosters who cared for her along the way, and to her new family for opening their hearts and home to this beautiful girl.
Here’s to a lifetime of tail wags, paw prints, and happy adventures, Sadie! 💕

Talk about a glow up! ✨

On the left is Sugar Cane the day he came back to GPAT — sick, hurting, and unsure of the world. On the right is Sugar Cane today — brighter eyes, healthier, and finally starting to believe in second chances. 🐾❤️

We’ve raised $1,357 of the $5,000 goal for his ongoing care, but we still have a long way to go. GPAT has already spent over $3,000 on his medical treatments, and he continues to need vet visits, medications, and support to get ready for his forever home.

🎉 Adoption Update! 🎉

Our little Elise has found her forever home! She now has human brothers and sisters to love on her and share in all the adventures ahead. From the start, Elise has been a gentle, loving soul, and we’re so happy she’ll get to grow up surrounded by so much family love.

Happy tails, Elise—you’ve got the best chapter ahead. 💜🐾

Meet Yeti, our big fluffy boy who’s just over 2 years old. Like many Great Pyrenees, he takes a little time to size up his surroundings, but once he’s comfortable, his goofy, playful side comes out in full force.

Yeti is house trained, crate trained, and walks beautifully on leash. He loves car rides (seriously, he’ll hop right in like it’s his favorite hobby) and he even enjoys a trip to the groomer. For all that floof, grooming is a must — but the good news is, he thinks it’s spa day.

He isn’t a fan of fireworks or sudden loud noises, so he’ll do best in a home that understands his need for a calm environment during those times. A 6-foot fence is required for Yeti, and his ideal adopter will have Pyr experience — someone who knows that these dogs can be both independent and deeply loyal once they bond with you. If you’re Pyr-savvy and have been waiting for the right floof to join your family, Yeti may be the one.
