Hello Bird and Parrot Peeps!
Happy Friday and Happy Holiday Weekend. On this Memorial Day weekend, we get to take a moment to thank all the brave people who gave of themselves to fight for freedom. Thank you for your service!!!
If you've been enjoying my behavior webinars, we have another opportunity to learn together right around the corner. On Wednesday, May 31 at 11:30am EST, I will be talking about parrots voluntarily stepping up and going into their cages force free.
We all want our parrots to have time outside their cages. When we have to resort to chasing them with a towel or stick when it's time for them to go home, we take giant withdrawals from our Trust Account, chipping away at our relationship with our birds. That often ends up in our birds spending more and more time in their cages.
There is a better way! When we teach our birds to enter their cages on their own and step up voluntarily without force, we build trust and our relationships grow by leaps and bounds. And, our birds get to spend more time outside of their cages instead of less.
We hope you'll join us to talk about "Going in the Cage Force Free and Voluntary Step Ups" next week.

Check out my good friend Patrick!🤣😍 Kaz Adams, one of the Parrot Kindergarten momma mentors, gives Patrick the world! And, apparently he's found himself a friend that's as handsome as he is.... although nowhere near the conversationalist! 🤣😍
Leash walking your dog... Do you attach your leash at the collar or chest harness? Attaching the leash to the harness AT THE CHEST is preferable to train 'walking without pulling'. Thanks Paws Abound! When the leash is pulled at the chest, the dog turns to you, giving you their attention, and allowing you to call them to you for a treat and/or re-start walking without pulling. When the leash is pulled at the neck, you are in a tug of war with your dog... at their neck... which can injure them.
Teaching calm..... and realizing my door jam needs a paint job😂😂😂
I've been collaborating with Kesha Long Moore and her family and flock.... Today Diesel took his first voluntary shower! 💓💓💓And boy did he need it 😂 What a happy boy! 😍
