Baby it’s hot outside .:Puff our Western bearded dragon (pogona minor) is cooling off in this hot weather today...If you can assist the native wildlife outside please place shallow water bowls around your property for the birds and reptiles to get a drink make sure they are away from your domesticated pets and your activity areas so it can ensure a safe relaxing drink and can then skedaddle back into the bush. .remember if they aren’t shallow place rocks and sticks to allow them to safely exit if too deep

It’s so important to take our rescues home if possible ,,the staff at Geraldton university knew this lizard and loved him ..they were so thankful that he came home ..this is why we do it 💚

Shallow water bowls assist the smaller species with places to drink . Please place them away from our domestic animals to ensure they can get a drink and get back to the wild lives they lead without being disturbed..

Update - we are still waiting for an update but the bush telegraph have suggested it’s under control … thanks for all the texts & messages offering assistance , we are so thankful for all of you 💚💚 until we get official word it’s contained we will be watching for any updates

We are ready to pack all animals that can fit in a carrier if we need to go ..

So stoked to see a breeding pair of these beauties hanging out on the property ..the Australian bustard (Ardeotis australis)
A nomadic species that flys in search of food , these gorgeous birds are becoming increasingly rare to see due to farming and clearing of land so it’s fantastic that they have a safe place here to forage for food , their diet includes fruits plants , invertebrates and small mammals or reptiles .

Release day for some of the joeys in Pen 4 ..they can live their best safe life out here now and even tho release is bitter sweet , its the whole reason we do wildlife rescue , some of these roos have been with me for over 18months and came in as tiny pinkie joeys under 400grams, to get them back out to the bush is such a beautiful feeling 💚💚🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘

A turtles shell is composed of the dorsal called the carapace, and the ventral called the plastron. These two sections are fused together and composed in a mosaic of epidermal, dermal, and skeletal tissue. This poor girl was in a terrible way & i was heading away the morning after the rescue. She was given meds and found to have eggs she eventually layed .Thankfully after care in Perth with a special carer I brought her home & she has been taken to the closest waterways near where she was found . She knew she was home & it was bloody brilliant to see 💚 🐢

Adam is his name , he was kept as a pet and sadly came into care lethargic , underweight and with the start of myopathy ..it’s been 7 days now of keeping him alive and regulating his body temperature.Each day he is getting stronger ..Wildlife are NOT pets .. don’t bring them to me when they are nearly dead ..it’s heartbreaking for us as carers to see them like this , you didn’t rescue it when your not actually doing something to save it ..your being cruel .. take it immediately to someone who know a what they are doing 😔You have access to a phone , you can find a wildlife carer , there’s no bloody excuse 😞

This little beauty is Igor the nankeen kestrel chick .They have been in care for a few weeks since falling from the nest in a demolition site ..lucky for them they were found by the lovely Philip Lancaster & immediately brought to me .Thankful for this bloke for grabbing Igor after carefully watching from a distance to see if the parents were around .( they were probably displaced by the tearing down of the building .)Igor left today to head to a place with a raptor rehabilitator Tracy where she has other nankeen kestrel chicks in care , all will be raised and released in a larger group to ensure success on release.I sock fed Igor so he didn’t imprint on me & see my hands as food , Nankeen kestrels can imprint especially when being raised solo & in my personal experiences .Thankful to the network of wildlife rescues and the mob that make them up …teamwork makes the dream work , just got back from a trip to Perth to pick up two very special creatures one that came into my care over 6wks ago and has had specialised care while I was away and is now ready to go home. Their story later in the week 💚 #wildliferescue

Pink@And grey galah chicks are a common chick we receive during the trauma season of wildlife rescue, we get a fair few in. Depending on their age the needs vary. Most important is warmth and a steady food intake . This little one is doing bloody fantastic in care .#wildlife #westernaustralia #australianwildlife
