Dogs fed once a day are less likely to be diagnosed with age-related conditions than pooches fed more often, study claims.

In the largest largest study to date of feeding frequency conducted in companion dogs, University of Arizona-led experts analyzed data on 24,238 pet dogs from the US and found:

• Being fed once a day lowered the risk of nine types of canine health problems
• These included cancer, dental issues and either kidney or urinary complications
• Similarly, dogs fed only once daily scored lower on tests of cognitive problems
• But the team said it is too early to advise owners to change their pet's diets

“We view these results as an exciting first step of an ongoing exploration of the impact of diet on companion dogs living in human environments. Given the intense interest in, and popularization of, ‘longevity diets’ such as intermittent fasting and time-restricted feeding, these types of studies in dogs are both timely and important. We believe these studies will ultimately offer insights into factors that promote health and longevity for both dogs and humans.” - The Dog Aging Project

So very dirty but no use in grooming them with this weather.
It is bitter cold and it has been pretty windy.
The dogs are happy and that really is all that matters.
We have girls in and out of heat cycles so play time is limited.

Oh their energy !
This is what I love about my malamutes - their energy.
Extremely healthy and it shows through their energy!
No, McKinley is not hurt, they love their little sister so much. Just tummy tickles :)
* Sure wish it would melt and dry up or snow and be pretty. Oh well, the dogs don't care.
Oh You can see how obsessed Nikki is with her ball and fetching. No matter how hard she is playing, she will stop to go get that ball!

Watching this big buck while sitting on the couch. There is a slightly smaller buck along with about 10 others. A set of new twins this year. Waiting for them to move on before going out to play with the dogs. Share the land and co-exist. I always look for the deer before letting the dogs out. If they are insight, I wait. The deer don't mind the dogs. They are all used to each other. I would like to keep it that way so we don't disturb them.

This picture brings back so many great memories. In 2015, I finished Nador 3rd place in the IWPA International Weight Pull Competition. R***r qualified to compete too but I knew I didn't have it in me to do both so I did Nador since he was the oldest. It literally took every ounce of energy I had to do it. But I did it. It destroyed by spine. After 7 yrs, last year, I worked with Nikki and she passed her tadpole water test. After 7 years, I finally accomplished something again! This year, Nikki got her CGC and Trick. So here is hoping... after now 8 yrs and next year will be 9 yrs, I can accomplish a lot more with the Goobers !
