Still thinking of you my darling.

My darling little Peanut has been gone for six weeks now and I still haven’t been able to write a final post about her. I think it will be soon, but it seems like just yesterday she was hiding behind things near the door to my bedroom waiting for someone to open it. Then that skinny little butt would take off out into the living room and run circles all over the house before we could catch her. I would always tell her that was terrible naughtiness, but I swear she had a smile on her face every time.

Final update on Peanut. She coded at midnight last night... they did all possible medicine remedies but could not bear to do chest compressions on her since she had just had open heart surgery. She passed shortly thereafter. She went down fighting and tried her best to make it. I am heart broken.

UPDATE: PEANUT MADE IT THROUGH SURGERY! AND AND SHE CAME OUT FIGHTING MAD. It’s a good sign that she had the energy to be that pi**ed off. Waiting for more news!

Peanut is having open heart surgery to fix her Persistent Right Aortic Artery right now! Three doctors are with her along with two technicians. It sounds like she is in great hands, but she’s such a little peanut I am so worried she won’t make it. Please please please send your prayers. I will update everyone the minute I hear. Thanks to all of you who pray for her and love her, it makes such a difference for her and for me. ❤️ SHE IS A FIGHTER!

UPDATE Tuesday 8/4/20
Peanut was doing so well yesterday, and then started throwing up again this morning. I weighed her and she had lost another 2 ounces. At almost 5 months, she weighs 1lb, 9oz. It would be so tragic to lose her just days before her surgery so she is back in the hospital to make sure that doesn’t happen.

2nd UPDATE: Peanut is doing MUCH better. With all the mucous she kept throwing up yesterday, I started thinking maybe the formula was causing it so I started mixing her wet food with water instead. She has kept EVERYTHING down and is able to eat twice as much. My heart is so filled with joy! 💓💓💓

UPDATE for MONDAY 8/3/20
Peanut had a terrible day yesterday. This morning I mixed her slurry differently and so far she has kept it down. I am supplementing with subcutaneous fluids to keep her hydrated. She is very skinny. 😪 Hoping for a better day for her. Every time I put her down she cries for me, so I am holding her most of the day swaddled in a blanket.

I am in a state of disbelief. I got a call from the vet this morning. Peanut is keeping liquids down again and they said I can bring her home until her surgery! I just have to bring her back immediately if she can’t keep anything down again. I didn’t think I would ever see her again even if she survived the surgery. Also, and the most exciting news, her other deformity-mega esophagus, it is possible she could outgrow it. I know this is very very very optimistic, but Peanut has a chance for a normal life without suffering. Is it too much to hope for?
