Hi everyone
Sorry for the radio silence but ive had a very busy couple of months moving home from Peacehaven to Liverpool!! and finding a new job and settling into the house etc etc.

the first thing i want to do is say a huge thank you for all yopur support so far.

Im not going to be able to do another aid run sadly but we still need to raise funds to help the animals that have either gone from Ukraine to Romania or are still in Ukraine.

To start this i need to finish of the draw that i started before i moved. There are some amazing prizes so if you havent already looked at it then please read the next post.

So last trip completed.
3rd trip in planning progress.

The next trip will be very different.

We won't be taking donations with us. We will be raising funds to buy animal feed and medicine that the shelters in the Ukraine are desperately in need of. We will then use two vans and take it to the shelters in Odesa and izmail.

This way we can ensure that it gets to them as there have been lots of people saying they will take it then trying to charge the shelter for the food.

We have everything roughly in place and I will be finalising the details over the next few days.

Tickets are £5 each and we have 50 numbers available. We will allocate you a number randomly, or you can specify lucky numbers subject to availability. If your number has been taken we'll ask you to choose another.

All the money raised from this fundraiser will help to transport humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees and animal food to the rescuers helping to care for displaced cats and dogs. 🐱🐶

We have just had an amazing donation of £700 to cover the cost of the van hire from Helping Paws Fundraising Page

I can't express how thankful I am for this help.

This means all we need to do now is to try to cover some of the fuel costs and Eurotunnel.

Hi everyone,
I wopuld like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who has helped donate both items ad funds.

I tried to post updates as much as i could for you to follow but it was a very tiring trip with very little sleep.

It was successful because of all the help i recieved from all of you and the work of the girls from Paws and Whiskers Sussex UK - Dog and Cat Rescueback home especially my amazing wife whom I called constantly due to feeling quite down on more tahn one day and I missed her like crazy(sorry soppy bit done now)

I still have so many donations left to get over there and with this i am planning a second trip over but I would like to hire a van this time and have a second driver with me so i can get there and back non stop in 4 days.

To do this I am yet again appealing for some help in funding the van hire and fuel costs etc.

he van hire will be about £500 and the fuel costs me around £750 on the last trip plus the Eurotunnel costs on top.

I have added a picture of the amazing moment that a lady that escaped from Kyiv with her much loved 12 year doggy with a heart problem was reunited. I was very honoured to be trusted to bring Lyoka back with me and there were tears when they met up again.

Finally home
Shattered but I've had a shower and feeling better.

Next job is to de-shed moni the GSD and pick up lyoka from Shelle Murray Bijou Dog Grooming

Shelle has kindly given lyoka a groom to make sure he is looking handsome ready for his reunion with his owners from Ukraine this afternoon. Thank you so much for doing that so early today.

Finally on my way back home with my 2 very very important passengers.

Moni was going to be left in her kennel alone be as her friend had been given his ride booked on the happy bus this Friday.

She had already been there for a year and I couldn't let her stay longer 💞

And lyoka.
We were asked if we could help get him transportation to the Ukraine by Zoya.

Her mum and nan left the Ukraine with lyoka but they are awaiting visas in Bucharest.

So I am bringing him back to the UK to Zoya and her family will fly out once they can to be reunited with the little cutie.

Been a long day today left Bucharest at 9am and after a quick visit to Sibiu to visit a rescuer there I then headed back to siret at the border to help 30 dogs back from Ukraine.

I have to say the people that I have been meeting in Romania have been amazing.

They all say the same thing 'we have to help our neighbors' but they are also worried about their own safety and if it could cross into their own country.

It's a very strange situation and one I never thought I would ever be in in Europe.

It's also very hard knowing how much help people and animals need over the border and not going to help. I want to go and help in some way so badly but I also can't put myself in danger as I promised my wife that I wouldn't.

Anyway enough morning rambling I need to go and meet another cat rescuer.

Today I met with the owners of a shelter that are going to help with some of the Ukrainian dogs.

I dropped off loads of the donated dog food and met a few of the dogs currently there.

They have some stunning dogs that have been there for way to long and need to get into their furever homes.

Last night I met with dog and cat rescuer Mirela, she has so far taken in over 20 cats from another rescue in the Ukraine including 7 of the owners personal pets.

Mirela will get the cats ready for adoption whilst keeping the owners seven cats until they can go back home or get a new home.

I was able to leave a lots of the donated cat food to help out and Mirela asked me to pass on her thanks to everyone who donated.

Today I will meeting another rescue that is helping with the Ukrainian animals in need.

Apologies for the bad pictures but cats don't like staying still for photos🤣

So I have dropped of the donations at the refugee centre including so many nappies and sanitary items.
There was also a lot of first aid and clothing.

It was minus 11 as I was driving in this morning so I know all the coats will be well used.

I don't get a picture because it is women and children as as a solo male I feel uncomfortable. Plus I'm not doing it for the photo opportunity.

I am now going to head off to the animal shelters that are working to get the Ukrainian dogs and cats safe and give them a load off food etc.

I will take pictures with the animals as I can't help myself when it comes to dogs and cats 🤣💕.

I took one photo of the outside of the refugee centre it's not very good but shows I was there.

So after a very short uncomfortable sleep in a service station outside cologne I'm now heading through Germany.

Currently grabbing a quick coffee near Frankfurt and then on through Austria.

It may be chilly but it's a stunning sunny day in Germany.
