A common question I get is… I don’t know which bunny to choose or an adopter comes in with their heart set on a bunny to then bond to their existing rabbit.

The truth is… nobody can ever, ever say that this is the perfect rabbit for your rabbit at home. If a rescue, breeder, pet shop says this then they do not have the well-being of the rabbit at the centre of what they’re doing. The rabbits should be allowed to tell us if this is not the friend for them.

All we can do is advise and see what happens. I fit the rabbit to the perfect home as best I can based off of the actual home. Some rabbits prefer indoors, some destroy absolutely everything and an outdoor enclosure would save the skirting boards and sofa!

The best thing that you can do is to be open minded! Take our advice on the home that you can offer and who would fit in with this lifestyle but be open minded. Boy, girl, giant, mini breed… you just never know what’s going to work🤷‍♀️. If it doesn’t work out rescues will support you in matching another rabbit or locating other ethical rescues that could help.

We all recognise that breeds such as lionheads and mini lops are not desirable due to the health problems that can occur. These should be homed to adopters that accept this and will work with it… we appreciate that it’s not for everyone.

We can’t work miracles we can only try our best. By choosing to rescue a rabbit you are saving a life ❤️

36 bunnies + 6 kits have come through Bunny HQ (the kits didn’t make it 😞). Just little me in my wellies and my family if I can drag them out to help 😅.

No designated foster homes- occasionally I’ve found some flippin amazing people who have helped urgently.

No designated funding income - relying on kind people to provide donations for supplies or supplies personally donated. With every single penny of my wages going on these kids!

Just me who seems to get involved with other rescues and too many flippin dumps and self rescues. Every single rabbit has left or will leave to RWAF standard homes. Every single rabbit has had and will have a chance that’s on here.

Xmas day I’m out there at 6am cleaning, I’m there in the snow panicking, in the heat stressing my head off. They cause me nothing but stress and worry but look at them all!! Who knows where they’d be if they didn’t start in my garden!

I’m not a big rescue, I am literally fostering the rabbits that I can whilst trying to muddle through working at a hospice and being a full time public health student!

To everyone that’s supported look at these babies. You have achieved this! ❤️

🩷 Happy Whisker Wednesday 🩷

Bolt and Remi went in to be neutered today. It went well but they are looking a little sore and frazzled.

We desperately need a few things
• Bedding
• Soft Timothy Hay (Hay Box because we have some buns here that really truly love it and we have a small space of storage it can go in)
• Clear Tarp. I can send the link on Amazon. The runs are feeling it and we need some extra cover.
• 10kg Burgess Excel Pellets

Honestly any of this would be so appreciated. We currently have 14 fosters. Some are leaving soon, we have no space as always😅

And lots of buns looking for homes too. Little Boo and Elmo are ready to leave in just over 2 weeks and have had absolutely no interest. It’s heartbreaking that their future is rescue life 😞

Elmo
Elmo is looking for large home with bunny friend/s. He is calm and gentle once he knows you. Initially he is very fearful. He needs a very calm and patient home. He loves nothing more than his ears stroked and to take pellets off of you whilst sitting on your lap. He has gorgeous blue eyes and will often relax next to you showing you his ginormous flops. He loves jumping onto things so he’d love a home with lots of hides / castles. Sat waiting in rescue is not doing him any good. He needs friends and his forever home. It’s heartbreaking watching him wait.

Mum and Dad came into the rescue, both are minilops. They had been put together and weren’t neutered resulting in them breeding. Elmo being a mini lop and quite flat faced will need a rabbit savvy vet to monitor his ears and teeth.

Could you be his forever family?

He would suit ether an indoor home or outdoor. He must have 60sqft + of space. He loves tunnels and things to climb on so a home that can provide him with tunnels and castles to zoom through would be amazing!

Remi
Everyone who meets Remi falls inlove with him. He is so gentle and calm. He just craves human attention and loves to be first onto your lap. He will climb up onto your arm just to get closer to you. He would love a caring home with another rabbit / other rabbit friends.

He came into the rescue with his siblings due to Pets at home s*xing them incorrectly resulting in an unwanted litter. They were given to the rescue at 8 weeks old.

He would suit ether an indoor home or outdoor. He must have 60sqft + of space. He loves tunnels and things to climb on so a home that can provide him with tunnels and castles to zoom through would be amazing! Remi is fully littertrained.

Not a single serious enquiry for Boo and he can leave here in just 20 days. He doesn’t want to be sat waiting 😞. He deserves his forever home, they all do! He’s been at the rescue since he was a kit so it really is time that he gets settled ❤️

Boo
Boois looking for large home with bunny friend/s. He is always first to say hello and incredibly friendly. Nothing bothers him! He is calm and gentle. As you can tell from photos Boo loves a digging box! Litter training is being worked on to not p*e in the digging box and then roll in it😅. With a bit of time a regular brushing the p*e stains will come out!

He has had a slow start to the rehoming process as he was a tricky bun to s*x due to developing really slowly. He has now been neutered and is ready to start his new journey in a loving and safe environment.

Description / Breed - orange lionhead x nethie cross
Special needs - none

Nala was found abandoned in a carrier in a bin in Southampton. She is a friendly girl that is littertrained, she can be slightly shy to begin with but soon warms up!

She loves a nose boop and a digging tray!.

Nala needs over 60sqft of space ether indoors or outdoors with another friend /s .

Bonding offered is incredibly limited now unfortunately, this will need to be taken into consideration when homing!

An update
Boo & Elmo have had no serious interest sadly. Nellie and Nala have had no interest. Remi and Bolt are going in for neutering in 7 days and have had no interest. Maxi, Tiger and Bigwig aren’t being neutered until the end of March.

Elmo, Boo, Nellie, Nala, Remi and Bolt are priority to home so that they are not on their own for any longer. Elmo is really struggling by himself and needs a confident friend as he is an anxious bun.

I currently have no bonding available unfortunately. I am doing my best to locate slots ❤️

Two of these have just arrived. Truly truly thank you. You are helping change so many lives. We have a lot of lop crosses here and as we all know this creates anxiety. Their flat faces can cause all sorts of problems with their teeth. A good quality hay is what you need. So truly thank you to the person that sent this. You are helping to give these bunnies a safer future ❤️

Current situation

I need to find £390.35 and £165 to pay off a debt for neutering. Gizmo & Sylvester’s neuter and then the deposit for Bigwig, Tiger and Maxi.

Then I’ve spent £99 and £135 for pre neuter deposits. I need another £99 on 28th of Feb , £135 on 6th March , £410 on 12th March.

As you can imagine I’m very stressed. This is the reality of the mess that nobody else wants to fix. My day off today (first day off since Christmas Day) was spent doing a deep clean and rearranging everyone. I’m due to go away next weekend and I will just stress about them so much… leaving 18 rabbits is not easy. But we do it. I hate to ask but any financial help right now would be so appreciated. The absolute essential thing is to get these debts paid off and I have a short time frame. Then I can begin getting things back on track for the upcoming neuters. I currently have £17.71 sat in the rescue account. These babies need you. Help me to help them. Thank you ❤️
