E litter v. Chequamegon pups are all off to their new homes, except Estella, who is staying with us. Of course I didn’t get pics of everyone 🤦🏼‍♂️but here are some of the happy new owners with their pups. Ero, Enzo, and Eiko are still looking for their hunting families. All three males have very nice temperaments with similar drive. Ero is definitely the big boy, with Eiko and Enzo a shade bit smaller. These little hunters are ready to start training for upland, waterfowl, and forest work. Both parents are VGP dogs. The v. Chequamegon E litter is 2 weeks old today. Here are some pics of the braunschimmel pups (2 males and 3 females) and they are all doing great! They are all opening their eyes and definitely getting their legs under them.

Happy Mother’s Day to all! Braeya is doing her best at motherhood with her 11 pups. She’s finding out it’s way more work than expected😁but she is doing it with a smile as always. The litter is not completely spoken for so if you are looking for your next partner please reach out to us. They will be some great hunting companions!

Braeya v. Chequamegon has a full load😁 Our vet counts 12 and I can’t disagree. We are excited about this pairing with Solo vom Düwelsbarg and having some braun pups in the kennel for the first time.

All the D litter pups (Balta v. Makoshika x Hunk vom Teuberschlag) went home with their new owners this past weekend. We are blessed and grateful to have such a great group of owners for our pups! Delta v. Chequamegon will be staying with us and she got to take a ride up to the cabin and meet the neighbors after saying goodbye to her siblings. The new queen took her throne 🤣 We look forward to seeing all the pups out either training and/or at the spring tests in ‘25. Enjoy and expose, expose, expose!

While I was down south hooking up a date with Braeya v. Chequamegon and Solo vom Duwelsbarg, Stacy took the D litter out for their first outdoor run in the sun. These pups are doing great and putting away the groceries😁

I love it when the pups start to darken up! These little turds are going to be some fine looking hunting machines. Vids to come soon as they start getting their mobility and more importantly their personalities😁

D litter v. Chequamegon are a week old and all pups are progressing nicely. All pups easily doubled their weight by day 6. They are a very content pack of pups and it’s pretty obvious who the proficient feeders are as we have a couple chunky monkeys. Letty is doing well and enjoying her pups and we are too!

Letty had her litter early Friday morning. She is doing well and now has 5 healthy D litter pups. 2 schwsch males, 2 Schwsch females, and 1 brsch female. We will be keeping one female at the kennel for evaluation and rest are going to great hunting homes where I’m sure they will not disappoint! More puppy pics to follow😁

We are excited to announce the planned breeding of our E litter! This pairing with Braeya v. Chequamegon and Solo vom Düwelsbarg is expected in the spring of ‘24. Braeya is an excellent hunting and family dog with all the attributes we are breeding for. Her natural abilities in the field, forest and water are all top notch. She has a sound/stable temperament and very good form and coat. She was the top dog at the 2022 Öberlander and she did that not only as the youngest dog at the test but with a first time handler! Solo is a well bred male imported from Germany. I have been impressed with him from the first time I saw him as a pup and throughout his development. He is a stunning example of a Braun m. Abz stud dog with excellent pigment and an excellent (12) coat! He too brings a ton of NA, most notably with his use of nose, water work, and pointing/backing. Ice beards are finally back in northern Wisco! Brynna and Cobra enjoyed their run before our first blizzard of the year. Letty is carrying her D litter (Balta v. Makoshika x Hunk vom Teuberschlag) and missed the fun.

Merry Christmas!! We were blessed to be able to get out for a little grouse action on Christmas Eve day. Even though the weather feels like October, the birds were typical late season skittish. I wish you all an awesome ‘24.

We are happy to announce v. Chequamegon’s planned D litter pairing. When Balta v. Makoshika (call name Letty) enters her next heat cycle she will be bred to Hunk vom Teuberschlag. Letty has produced our first three litters and all her pups have turned out to be great hunting dogs and have become integral parts of their families (references available from all litters). Letty is producing pups that have a ton of natural ability including the desire and drive to hunt all day in varied terrain. Like her, the pups have done very well in the field, forest, and water. They develop early, train easily, and are highly intelligent working dogs that love their families. Her B litter produced 3 VGP dogs (2 prize I and 1 prize III) and they were all the youngest dogs at their tests. Hunk is a stud that should pair very well with Letty. They share many of the same natural attributes, and he will bring added cooperation to the pups. He completed his HZP and VGP (both very high level) the fall before his VJP which rarely happens and is a testament to his ability to learn and please his handler. His form and hair are exceptional as he is the product of two very respected breeding programs. We are looking to place puppies with hard hunting families that are wanting to test in the VDD/JGHV system. C litter v. Chequamegon had their first birthday the other day and they are growing into some fine hunting dogs! The owners are all doing their part to train, work and expose them to everything they were bred to do. I couldn’t ask for a better group of OTH’s for these pups. I hope you enjoy the rest of your seasons and look forward to spring testing!

I was fortunate to spend my birthday morning with Brynna at a youth hunt at White River Ag in Mason. The kids were great, so respectful and appreciative. They all had great shooting skills and handled their guns safely. Thanks to Pat Quaintance for organizing and Jerry Schenck and “The Friends of Poynette Game Farm” for bringing up 50 roosters for the kids. I then took the Tasmanian Devil aka Cobra out for partridge hunting. She produced 6 birds in an hour but was on sensory overload. She settle at the 7 mile mark and pointed a nice one with an easy shot. One more pointed bird but a failed shot ended my day. Thanks all for the birthday wishes, it was a great day with dogs and kids!
