Quick update and pic on Max. Looking much happier this morning. Thanks for all your messages and kind thoughts. I am soʻ very touched 💞.

Well i gotta say that this is not how I wanted to start my Tuesday morning....

Just want to say a huge thank you to the fire brigade. I am humbled that you came so quickly and were very caring towards my very stuck horse. And also as usual to our awesome neighbour who we really could not do without. SO SO very grateful.

Here are a few not very good pics of this mornings antics..

Hi all, I have been asked to by Hellie who contacted me through Happy Horse Sanctuary and who lives in Blenheim in the hope that there is someone who can help her re-home her 2 horses.

Unfortunately Hellie has had an accident and can no longer care for her furbabies in the way she would like. We here are at our limits and hence my post.

Is there any horse sanctuary in the South Island? Hellie is happy to sponsor her horses. Heres a little about them.

Leo is 21yrs old, a gelding and is 15hh. He has been ridden but is now retired and is happy being a paddock mate. He loves attention and getting cuddles. Charlie Brown is 19, also a gelding and is 16hh. He has been backed but is still green. He needs attention and work. Has a lovely temperament, easy to catch float etc. Charlie came off the track after having a terrible accident and Hellie spent 3 years getting him well again.

If there is anyone who can help please let me know.

Last one is of Chrissy the farm cat, who we thought was on her final days couple weeks ago but instead found she has a hyperthyroid. Amazing what medication can do.

To all the horsey people out there. Please see below request I have received. Am hoping someone can help 🙏 please.

Hi I am in real estate and one of our vendors (90+ yr old lady up north) has left a 25yr old horse on a property and the purchaser wants it gone. Old lady has asked for it to be rehomed and she wants me to help etc. The horse is currently on the property in Jesmond rd Drury. Would appreciate any help as the Asian purchaser has said if it doesn’t go soon he is going to dispose of it. Hope to hear from you soon.

Anyone who is unsure about contact care for horses. Had Pepe come treat Red, 2nd from left. He was not fitting into the herd and if I took Frankie and Shaman away he would fret badly. Well as u can see he is happy in his herd and no sign of Frankie and Shaman (they are somewhere in the yard . Amazing stuff.

Hi All, thought I had posted this on Happy Horse Sanctuary but had inadvertently posted on my personal fb page. So for those who only follow this page here is my first blog for 2024.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all have had a wonderful break and that 2024 has started well for you all.
These holidays I have been busy just chilling with my furbabies, hence why I have not posted anything until now. I made a decision that I was going to give my full attention to my horses while with them and learn to just "BE" when in their presence and unfortunately you can't do that when you have a phone in your hand trying to catch the moments with them. Hence why I have not posted any photos as yet.
I have been very lucky to have a friend who has introduced me to the Trust Technique and I am amazed at how this works and that it does actually work. I travelled to Wellington for the weekend to learn more which was amazing and mindblowing. So this year is going to be all about growing my horses trust in me and becoming more connected with them. Trust Technique is about Relax, Release, Regard. Also understanding your energy levels and how that affects your horse.
And thats just the beginning of the Trust Technique or TT as we call it..... So roll on 2024, I am very excited to see how this year develops with my herd of 13.

PS. Will post some photos very soon

Hi everyone, I have had a lovely lady called Liz come to me needing a home for her 12 year old mare, Wanda (see her request below). Unfortunately I am not able to take on any more horses so am putting it out there, with her permission, to see if any of you are able to help. If you are able to help or know of someone please contactn Liz Sayegh. Thanks everyone.

From Liz,
I'm reaching out in hope that you may be able to assist with rehoming my horse.

Unfortunately after 8 years, I am now having to rehome my mare due to a death in our family and as a solo mum moving out of Auckland and working full time, I'm no longer able to care for her.

Please see some basic info about her and photos below 😊 feel free to ask any questions

Wanda is a 12 yr old TB Mare approx 15.2hh and has a beautiful nature.

Ideally I'd like to rehome her as a Paddock mate only due to old sacral/pelvis injuries which her old trainer then trained raced her thru.
I took her as a 4yr old OTT after hearing they were wanting to put her in foal and she's been a great therapy horse since.

I've only ever lightly hacked her never done shows, eventing or schooling and I've not ridden her for a couple of years now. she's a true sweetheart, great on the ground and often at the bottom of the pecking order in a herd 😊
Good for dentist, farrier, floating and trucking, she's a pretty low maintenance TB barefoot low feed no cover kinda girl.

I'm praying for a forever home where she can live a chill life with other horses and no pressure or pain for her after her racing days. Please let me know if you can help or suggest somewhere .

Who would like to sponsor this gorgeous boy. His name is Shaman, he's a Kaimanawa and in his early 20s, so we believe.
Don't know when he was mustered as he apparently not recorded so am guessing he could have been one of the early ones.
He has the most sweetest nature ever. Not sure if ever ridden but living his best life at Happy Horse Sanctuary. PM if interested. $20 a week will help immensely towards his care.
