🐾 Senior dog owners — we made it to Part Six (the final part).
🚩 Behavior Red Flags I Never Ignore in Older Dogs — When in Doubt, Talk to Your Vet
When is a dog considered a senior? It depends on size and breed — but honestly, the number matters less than the physical and mental changes.
Changes in sleep, appetite, mobility, mood, house training, social behavior — even vision and hearing changes — can all affect behavior.
Sometimes what looks like stubbornness, clinginess, confusion, potty accidents or new reactivity may be a dog processing the world differently.
🥺Dogs often compensate before we even realize something is wrong.
So don’t wait for obvious suffering.
Even subtle behavior changes are worth bringing up to your veterinarian. 🤍
New behavior deserves curiosity before correction.
