We have some announcements!

- We’ve updated our availability post.
- We’re now taking bookings up until the end of June.
- We’re working on compiling a small list of pet sitters and registered veterinary nurses that we know and trust to refer our clients to during our periods of unavailability. We hope this will allow us to help you all even if we’re unavailable ourselves. Any referrals will be handled privately, so please message us if you’d like us to pair you with somebody else.

Are you planning a summer clear-out whilst stuck indoors during this heatwave? Sorting through your pantry, your dogs’ belongings, or your linen cupboard?

In the past week, Dogs' Refuge Home WA INC has posted asking for dog treats and canned tuna and sardines in spring water. They also need and accept donations of:
- clean/new dog bowls
- clean/new dog beds
- clean flat sheets
- clean, unstuffed blankets
- dog food
- new dog toys
- clean large towels

If you have donations you’d like us to collect or that you’d like to drop off to us, please comment below. We will be setting up our carport as a donation drop-off point until the end of January.

Having taken in 1584 dogs and puppies during the 23/24 financial year and working in animal rescue ourselves, we know how far donations like these go. We hope you’ve had a lovely start to 2025. Ours has been busy, and our admin assistant Mildred has been hard at work managing our bookings and schedules.

We hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas!

During the month of December we did 14 enrichment sessions, welcomed 3 dog boarders and 5 cat boarders, made 60 drop in visits, conducted 6 meet and greets and cared for a total of 7 dogs, 29 cats, 2 snakes and some fish.

Thankyou for supporting us this holiday period. After all of the Christmas craziness, we’re looking forward to finally having an afternoon off with our cats tomorrow.

Our Admin Assistant, Mildred, spent this afternoon updating our holiday availability after a few Christmas cancellations and changes to pre-existing jobs. Consequently, she is pleased to announce that we can now reopen our books from tomorrow onwards until the end of January.

Please get in touch with us as soon as possible to secure your spot over this hectic holiday period.

It’s official!

We only have space to take on ONE more job over the Christmas week.

Our summer holiday availability is filling up FAST!

If you will be requiring our services during the second half of December, for New Year's or Australia Day, we urge you to get in contact with us as soon as possible. If you have tentatively booked with us in December, we ask for your confirmation by 25/11.

We still have availability for the first two weeks of December and we are currently booking till the end of February.

We cannot believe how quickly this year has flown and we are so excited for a busy holiday season spent with your pets!

Playful personalities!

We’ve spent the past week with some of our frequent favourites, Winston the British Shorthair, Lulu the Golden Retriever and Casper the Domestic Shorthair. All three young friends never fail to keep us busy or entertained with their playful personalities!

We’re so excited to be able to take on more bookings and spend more time with your pets now that university is over for the year. Will you be needing us anytime soon?

Hi everyone,

This is a bit of a different post from us.

We’ve had 8 reviews disappear in the last 12 months, and we’re now down to so few that we don’t even have a public rating. With pages like ours quickly popping up in our area, we’re genuinely concerned that a lack of positive reviews could be affecting our business.

We’ve just been informed that this has to do with the privacy setting a client selects when posting their review. So, if you’ve been one of the fantastic 11 people who have left us a lovely review over the past 16 months, we kindly ask you to change the audience settings on it so that we can continue competing with other pet sitters in the area.

We rely on the support of our clients and the income we generate from Pooper Scoopers, so we really need the community to see your positive experiences with us so that we can continue to operate.

It’s that time of the year again and so we have some important questions to ask to help keep your pets safe:
- Do you need to change any contact details on their microchips?
- Do you have their paperwork for council registration?
- Do you have to apply for any special permissions?
- Are you aware of any reduced registrations costs you’re entitled to?
- Would you benefit from a sterilisation subsidy for your pet to lower your registration costs?
- Have you registered your pets yet?

We understand these systems can be tricky to navigate, so we’re always happy to help with tasks like this. If you need a hand, flick us a message before registrations are due on November 30th. 🙂

We’ve had a busy two weeks with these cuties!

Although Amelia has been walking our young friends Lulu the Golden Retriever and Hugo the Dachshund regularly since July, our drop-in bookings are picking up with the warmer weather again.

We’ve had the pleasure of caring for Winston the British Shorthair for the fifth time and Leo and Lola, our older bonded cat friends, also for a fifth time. We also had Peanut the Chihuahua come to stay for 6 days whilst his mum was competing in an international dance competition in Sweden. He lives in a multi-cat household so thankfully everyone got along. Finally, we have been tag-teaming caring for Charlie the Labrador with our pet sitter whilst her family relocate to Sydney, where she’ll eventually join them.

We’ve loved building relationships with our client’s pets across numerous enrichment sessions and drop-in periods over the past 15 months. It’s always a privilege to earn an animal’s trust and watch them grow, but makes it even harder to see them go. We’ll miss you, Charlie!

Sorry we’ve been so quiet!
We received an unfortunate diagnosis for one of our cats in August and have since been rather preoccupied with her treatment. We’ve still been busy with petsitting, however, and we still have availability for November, December and January, including the Christmas and New Year period!

Thankyou everyone for your patience with us last week. We had a much-needed 6 days away with our old girl Mildred, throwing ourselves into some of our hobbies, enjoying farm life and exploring the bush around us before returning to semester 2 and work commitments for the rest of the year.

We have availability from now until Christmas, excluding August 31 to September 8, and we also have room on our books for some new clients!

Happy Sunday, lovely Pooper Scoopers Community!

Our apologies for not having posted this sooner, but we’ve taken a break and gone camping! We’d like to ask that you please bear with us till Thursday to get back to your messages so that we can maintain a healthy distance from our work lives whilst we’re away.

If you need urgent care, please start your messaged to us with URGENT and we’ll get back to you ASAP. We have had one client needing to leave town in a hurry this weekend and we managed to find them alternative care!

Last month, we had to say goodbye to one of our most regular clients’ pets; Harvey.

Harvey was adopted from Cat Haven 7 years ago and has enjoyed a very spoilt and very loved life with his parents ever since. Being insulin-dependent we would visit Harvey twice daily, often for weeks at a time. It is unlikely that we’ve spent more time with any other petsitting friend than we have with Harvey, and we’ve loved every minute of being his “cool holiday aunties”.

We have a never-ending list of things that we will miss about Harvey, so here are some of our favourites. We will miss being uniquely yelled at upon entry with a “mow-WOW”. We will miss him trying to steal our fish and chips, curry, thai and burgers. We will miss Netflix, treats and chill evenings cuddling on the couch with him. We will miss him gaslighting us into giving him more treats or letting him drink from the bathroom tap. We will miss early morning coffee time and evening board game time with him. We will miss dancing to Taylor Swift around the lounge room with him judging us from his favourite bed. We will miss playing with him and all of his kisses and cuddles.

Rosie and Nick, we hope you’re able to heal now that you have him home with you. Thankyou for entrusting us with his care in life and after. His big personality and love for us will always hold a special place in our hearts.
