The queen of Lynara…Pistazie (Eazi)!!
BREEDING:
Eazi was bred in the German State Stud and is in the Brandenburg studbook. She is from the very old “P line” and her dam line is highly regarded in the Brandenburg studbook. She is by Paradiesvogel, out of Premiere, out of Primadonna, one of the most highly decorated mares in the studbook…Primadonna is regarded as a bit of a legend in the Brandenburg Stud Book! Eazi is related to Poetin another talented mare with Primadonna in the dam line. Poetin was sold (as a 6 year old) for a record amount at auction - €2.5 million…quite impressive back in 2003!!
Pistazie’s Sire Paradiesvogel
Paradiesvogel was born in 1989. The Westfalian licensed breeding stallion passed away aged 25. The impressive black stallion was the most significant offspring by Parademarsch I out of a state premium mare Discothek. He was a successful producer of dressage and jumping horses. He spent many years at the state stud of Neustadt and Dosse.
Paradiesvogel I completed the stallion performance test with great success finishing third overall and scoring the highest mark for rideability and competed up to Prix St George.
He produced 34 state premium mares, 4 licenced sons and his most renown dressage offspring in the former French Grand Prix team horse Paradieszauber ridden by Catherine Henriquet, other creditable offspring jumped at 1.40m, 1.35m, 1.30m and at least 15 competed at 1.20m.
EAZI’S LIFE:
Eazi has spent most of her life being a broodmare so hasn’t had a hugely competitive ridden career.
Eazi has a slight turn in a foreleg (which has not impacted her soundness nor has it been passed on to any offspring), which deemed her ‘imperfect for the Brandenburg State Stud…so she was sent out of Germany as a 5-year-old with a big stamp on her passport ‘intended for human consumption’.
Thankfully Eazi bypassed the slaughterhouse and landed at Myrtle Lodge Stud, and was ridden there by the Irish Equitation Army. When Myrtle Lodge closed, she had a few yard moves until she ended up at Ringfort Stud to continue her career as a broodmare. It was at the Ringfort Stud retirement sale in 2012 that we purchased Eazi and she has remained with us! She was purchased in foal to Ringfort Cruise and our first foal at Lynara was Lynara First Dezign (Prada).
We have been blessed with several stunning foals from Eazi…but they’ll get their own post!
During a breeding break she was ridden and won various Riding Horse classes and was also placed at Royal Balmoral in the Riding Horse class. She also competed in unaffiliated dressage to elementary level.
Now, aged 20, she is very sound and living her best life…teaching more novice riders the ropes, hacking around the countryside and winning at whatever unaffiliated show she lands at!!
