A sleeping bearded dragon is often a very ungraceful creature, with many a photo showing dragons asleep in their food or other unusual places.

But did you know beardies can sleep while standing on just their back legs?

More common in younger beardies, this peculiar resting pose is nothing to worry about and just a part of bearded dragon life!

Although a loss of a limb doesn't grow back for a beardie, the loss of a tooth or even a few teeth can be temporary.

The front teeth of a bearded dragon, used for grabbing and tearing their food, can be dislodged so have evolved to grow back.

Even better for tackling those greens!

Although not from the Lonely Mountain, Smaug here is more at home in the lush outdoors and having fun in the Fall leaves.

We are so lucky to have the opportunity to live long and rich lives!

Every year and even every day is a blank canvas, full of possibility for us to take advantage of.

We never know how many years we have, so while our beardies might choose the slow life sometimes, the list of possibilities for us is near endless.

Your life deserves to be full of variety and memories, there's no such thing as "too late" to get started.

We all love a good beardie, but it's always best to think before expanding your beardie family.

Many new owners of bearded dragons ask whether they can live together. The simple answer to this question is:

You should avoid keeping beardies together and you must question why you want to keep them together.

Beardies are naturally territorial animals, especially males, and having more than one in a small space can cause them to fight.

We've seen some beardies getting on well in our comments section, which is great! But in most cases, it's not a great idea to keep beardies together.

We think the more beardies there are in the world, the better!

So with clutches of upto 20 at a time, female beardies certainly do their bit.

In the wild, numerous predators mean babies are in a lot of danger.

But in captivity, safety is much easier to access with plenty of beardie lovers opening up their homes to tiny dragons!

It differs for each dragon, but at their peak growth rate, a beardie can grow upto an inch per week!
