One of Ireland’s most successful international competitors, Cruising is by the registered Irish Draught stallion, Sea Crest.
Back in 1979 it was Austria's Hugo Simon & Gladstone became the first World Cup winner on Gladstone. American Kate Monahan took second place after the jump off, while her compatriot Norman Dello Joio and Ireland's Eddie Macken finished third.
Hugo Simon was the first person to win three World Cup titles, at the inaugural 1979 contest (on Gladstone) and also in 1997 and 1998 (both on E.T.).

Caroline Bradley went on to win team gold medals in World and European championships in 1978 and 1979 respectively and had considerable individual success, winning the grand prix at Hickstead in 1980 and the Queen Elizabeth II cup in 1978 and 1980.
Caroline Bradley made her debut on the British team, riding a horse called Franco, at the Dublin horse show in 1966 at the age of 20.

Andrew and Vibart won the leading show jumper of the year when Andrew was only sixteen, a record that still stands today.
Andrew was given permission by the B.S.J.A. to ride in adult Show Jumping at an early age because he had grown too big for ponies.

History was made at the Montreal Olympics when Alwin Schockemöhle and Warwick Rex became the first ever horse and rider to jump a double clear round over an Olympic course. It was pure magic, incredible precision and one of the easiest looking rounds to watch, even though this was the Olympics. Alwin and his great horse Warwick Rex made it look easy.
Alwin was one of the best in the world, one of the most stylish and one of the most talented of all time.

Ramiro was one of the first stallions to appear in competition. During his career he had numerous wins at all levels of show jumping - Nations Cups , Puissance and International Grand Prix competition. One of Ramiro's most famous daughters was Ratina Z who won double Olympic gold medals and also the World Cup of 1993 amongst a host of other prestigious championships.
