Renegade and I are headed to the 2024 Franklin, TN Mustang Heritage Spectacular, where Renegade and I will be competing in-hand! This is due to an injury I sustained in April. Please see the attached photos and videos for an update on his training progress.

Renegade recently participated in the Michigan Mustang Series, where he earned two second-place finishes and a first-place finish in his in-hand classes, out of approximately 14 mustangs. I am extremely proud of his calm and collected demeanor throughout the event. Then we went on our last field trip to the Holland Western Extreme Mountain Trail course. Renegade loved the obstacles and did 40+ obstacles for the first time without hesitation. Renegade is not undersaddle yet. Unfortunately, Renegade got a cut on the right side of his withers, which will require several weeks of downtime from undersaddle work to fully heal. Renegade has been my most difficult, fearful, and reactive mustang to date. I wasn’t sure if he would ever get to this point. I’m so proud of this sweet boy!

Renegade Update!

I realized I haven’t posted about Renegade since I picked him up. Renegade is my draw for the 2024 Franklin, TN Mustang Heritage Spectacular June 20-22nd. He is an 8yr old 15.2 hand bay from Devils Garden. He is a forest service mustang so he does not have a brand. He was very flighty and was very fearful around strangers. He has been one of my most fearful mustangs to date. He still has his moments, but he has made significant progress. We have been working on lots of groundwork and confidence-building over the last couple of months. He is super smart but can be a bit of an overachiever when he learns something new. Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks. He is absolutely glowing thanks to Green Horse Organics products and he looks pretty handsome in his Ridge Creek Tack halter. I'm excited to see his continued progress!

He will be available via competitive bid on June 22nd at the Williamson County Ag Expo In Franklin, TN.

Here is my draw for the 2024 Franklin, TN Mustang Heritage Spectacular Tag 8900 now named Renegade! He is an 8 year old 15.2 hand bay gelding from Devils Garden. I was one of the last people to choose a mustang and there were only a couple of choices left! I’m super excited to get him started this weekend. He will be available via competitive bid at the competition June 20-23 in Franklin, TN.

I’m excited to announce I was one out of about 35 competitors chosen to compete in the 2024 Franklin, TN Mustang Heritage Spectacular! I just picked up my draw today. I was one of the last to get to choose my mustang. I also picked up my mustang for the Michigan Mustang Series today as well. I will be posting more photos later!

I’m excited to announce that I will be competing in the Michigan Mustang Series Challenge with a Devils Garden forest service mustang this year! He was named Knightly by the corral staff. He is an 8 year old 15.3 hand dark bay gelding. He was noted as very calm and has only half a right ear. Pick up is on 2/4/24.
