Renegade and I are headed to the 2024 Franklin, TN Mustang Heritage Spectacular, where Renegade and I will be competing in-hand! This is due to an injury I sustained in April. Please see the attached photos and videos for an update on his training progress.

Renegade recently participated in the Michigan Mustang Series, where he earned two second-place finishes and a first-place finish in his in-hand classes, out of approximately 14 mustangs. I am extremely proud of his calm and collected demeanor throughout the event. Then we went on our last field trip to the Holland Western Extreme Mountain Trail course. Renegade loved the obstacles and did 40+ obstacles for the first time without hesitation. Renegade is not undersaddle yet. Unfortunately, Renegade got a cut on the right side of his withers, which will require several weeks of downtime from undersaddle work to fully heal. Renegade has been my most difficult, fearful, and reactive mustang to date. I wasn’t sure if he would ever get to this point. I’m so proud of this sweet boy!

Renegade Update!

I realized I haven’t posted about Renegade since I picked him up. Renegade is my draw for the 2024 Franklin, TN Mustang Heritage Spectacular June 20-22nd. He is an 8yr old 15.2 hand bay from Devils Garden. He is a forest service mustang so he does not have a brand. He was very flighty and was very fearful around strangers. He has been one of my most fearful mustangs to date. He still has his moments, but he has made significant progress. We have been working on lots of groundwork and confidence-building over the last couple of months. He is super smart but can be a bit of an overachiever when he learns something new. Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks. He is absolutely glowing thanks to Green Horse Organics products and he looks pretty handsome in his Ridge Creek Tack halter. I'm excited to see his continued progress!

I’m excited to announce that I will be competing in the Michigan Mustang Series Challenge with a Devils Garden forest service mustang this year! He was named Knightly by the corral staff. He is an 8 year old 15.3 hand dark bay gelding. He was noted as very calm and has only half a right ear. Pick up is on 2/4/24. We went on the Michigan Shoreine ride for the 3rd year in a row yesterday. All the horses did amazing! I even took Moon’s bridle off and galloped her down the beach bridless.

I had a professional photographer take pictures of us this year. I’m really excited to see how they turn out!

I realized I never posted Nugget’s photos from the 2023 Michigan TIP Open show! Nugget did amazing and placed first in handling/conditioning, first in trail, 3rd in freestyle, and Reserve champion overall for the open show. I am very proud of how hard she tried for me especially she has been on the back burner due to my other competition mustangs. I can only imagine what she will accomplish! For those of you that don’t know Nugget was my first mustang that I got wild to compete in the 2022 Michigan TIP Challenge as a yearling in the adult division we won Reserve Champion for the TIP challenge and Champion in the open show last year. She is truly incredible and I’m so excited to be competing in the Michigan Mustang Series shows next year with her. She is now 15 hands at 2.5 years old and still growing.

This sweetheart is looking for her forever home!

Ajax is a 3yr old 14.2 hand sorrel Mustang mare from Antelope Valley, NV. She is very sweet. She can still be slightly nervous around strangers initially, but warms up quickly. She halters, leads, picks up all 4 feet, loads/ unloads in the trailer, lunges, and is lightly started under saddle W/T. She just had her feet trimmed last week. Meet Ajax! Avaiable for adoption.

Ajax is a 3-year-old 14.2ish hand (maybe taller) Sorrel mare from Antelope Valley, NV. I picked her up 6 days ago. We took the first couple of sessions slowly as she was quite nervous once we got back and was too scared to eat. This sweet girl acclimated quickly and she is now eating/drinking well, haltering, learning to lead, loves chest scratches, and I‘m able to pet her all over. This girl is an absolute sweetheart and will be available for adoption.

Edit: As of 9/24 she is picking up all her feet and has had her first ride. She was calm and collected the entire time.

Lyla Update!
I haven’t posted about Lyla since day 11. I believe it’s day 85 now since I picked her up. Lyla has come so far, she is crazy smart and catches on quickly. She is great turned with mares and geldings. She has been doing great under saddle and she has had extensive groundwork. Lyla loves liberty and trick work as well. If you are looking for a flashy palomino with gorgeous movement then Lyla could be your next partner! She is available for adoption. BLM Application required.

A much needed Murphy Update!
I am extremely grateful that I had the chance to compete in this year's Extreme Mustang Makeover. Murphy did amazing. We got first in handling/conditioning and ended up placing 24th overall out of 49 people. I bought Murphy back at the end of the competition. I felt that it was in Murphy's best interest to find the perfect home for her. Murphy is Active and would excel in an active home whether it be trail riding, extreme trail, showing, liberty work, etc. With that being said Murphy is still looking for her forever home. Her laceration has fully healed and the fur is starting to grow back!

I am so proud of Murphy this weekend! She tried so hard and that’s all that really matters to me ❤️ We placed 1st in Handling/conditioning out of 48 people. The maneuvers class did not go as planned we were nearly last to go and a lot of the horses before her were terrified of the white signs in the arena. Unfortunately, Murphy was one of the ones that was scared, we still finished the pattern and I let her sniff some of the signs. She did great for her trail pattern and was a little looky at the walls expecting a sign to be there so I decided Murphy would be most confident just walking and trotting the pattern. She never once spooked. We get the rest of the results this morning. I am really happy with how well she’s done considering she had a month off total (cut it, started to heal, then opened it back up) before the competition to let her laceration heal. The laceration looks great, it is still missing the top layer of fur. If you have any questions about how to adopt Murphy at the auction today please come see me or message me!

Murphy got a laceration on her fetlock and has had the last 2 weeks to rest and heal before the competition. Her laceration is looking great and we got the go-ahead to still show! It certainly wasn’t the way I had planned to spend our last 2 weeks, but I spent the time hanging out and loving on her. I’m definitely going to miss this sweet girl. Day 11
Tag 3288 is no longer a number introducing Lyla. She has been doing amazing and is such a sweetheart. She is leading, tying, fly sprays, wears a fly mask, grooms all over, picks up all 4 feet, and leads outside her pen. We have been taking it nice and easy while Lyla got adjusted. She was so skinny when I picked her up. I can still see her ribs, but she is starting to fill out!

Introducing tag #3288 a 3yr old palomino from Adobe Town, WY. I just picked up her yesterday for the Michigan TIP Challenge in August. She is very curious. I was able to get her tag off last night, pet her all the way down to her butt, and brush her a little. Today we worked on getting the halter on, leading, brushing her out, and picking up her front legs.

We are sitting at about 50 days since I picked Murphy up. It’s crazy that we are halfway through our time together already. Murphy trailered to her first open ride night on Thursday. She was so calm and collected the entire time. Then she hung out at her first show yesterday. We did not compete due to the huge class sizes. I decided just to let Murphy take it all in. She did amazing kids RUNNING behind her, cars and trailers driving behind her while horses were showing in the area in front of her, and people running on the bleachers beside her. We played around on the race track Murphy had fun really stretching her legs. Overall it was such a great exposure experience!

Murphy has been doing great she went about 7.5 miles on her first trail ride on April 8th (tenth ride overall). She did great overall she walked, trotted, and cantered down the trails like she’s done it a thousand times. Some of the horses took off galloping and she kept calmly walking. She loves water and had a ton of fun playing in it. She is going to be such a nice trail horse! She had her first dental, hoof trim, and bath on April 12th. We plan to go to our first show next weekend!
