Vox hasn't had many updates lately - moving cross country, losing his Shabadoo (Dad's dad) in a rather chaotic & traumatic way and, as a result, having Vox's GramGram temporarily move in with us along with inheriting their 2.5 year old beagle, it's been chaotic to say the least. Of course, all this on top of traveling back to the Midwest and Colorado 8+ times for Shabadoo & GramGram, work, and regular life!
However, Vox took it all in stride 🐾💜
Unfortunately, as Vox's mom, I have one more update to share from my personal page (see image below).
Vox was adopted at approximately 3 years old, after spending just a few weeks shy of a full year at Clark County. He was initially a lot of work and because of that, not a dog most people could handle. But the moon & stars aligned and he became ours 💕
Once we got him settled and through the worst (thank you Prozac & training!), he morphed into a silly, friendly, and dapper boy, with his bow ties and silly collars.
He loved his Dogsters (brand name and homemade), any Bocce's Bakery treat that wasn't lamb or duck (allergies), and anything peanut butter.
He tolerated his feline sisters, hated thunderstorms, being in the car, and having his picture taken.
He held on for three years past the average lifespan of a male bluetick coonhound, long enough to support his puppa after the death of Shabadoo
He was the bestest boy we could have ever asked for, and we love him dearly.
If Vox had landed anywhere else, he wouldn't have made it past the stray hold.
Our family implores you to support your local no-kill shelter or rescue. Whether it's a single can of dog food, 30 minutes of your time, a toy your own fur baby wouldn't play with, or a million dollars... I assure you, it👏makes👏an👏impact👏
We also want to thank everyone who helped us care for our boy, and there are a LOT of people throughout the country over the last 11 years!
We sincerely apologize to anyone we may miss:
Zia Pet Hospital, Roadrunner Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital, Sauk Point Veterinary Clinic, VCA Veterinary Emergency Service & Veterinary Specialty Center, Kronenwetter Veterinary Care, Lucky Dog Daycare (boy did he love going there, and y'all loved him), UW Veterinary Care, Capital City Veterinary Clinic.
And a special shout out to Ken Werner & Candy Jean. We wouldn't have made it the first few years without all the love, support, and visits! Thank you, guys 🐾💕
