Shorty is staying with us for the weekend while foster mom has some fun. I bet and play ALL weekend. They have to become best friends because the three of us are headed to the beach after Thanksgiving for some rest and relaxation 🐶🐳🐠🦀

Whatever my previous story was, it included using barking and biting to make people go away to get what I wanted. Day two of training and we worked more on learning I can remove myself from a situation. Just because I bark, doesn’t mean the problem is going to walk away. Foster mom is working hard to build confidence (no pets if I flip over on my back), and through touch of my backside and paws and other things I generally don’t appreciate.

We started training today at Peace Love Dogs to work on our fear of meeting new human friends. His trainer also thinks he may have an injury, or something wonky with his back leg, that is making him more protective of being moved or picked up at times. *fully vetted and microchipped
*heartworm negative
*comes with 6 months of Heartgard and Nexgard, and two training sessions at Peace Love Dogs with his adoption donation of $200 to Jamie's Animal Rescue
*no small kids/teenagers ok
*loves other dogs and will be ok with cats
*VERY snuggly and LOVES to go on walks

We went over today to start introducing to his foster home. definitely prefers meeting new dogs to new people - but we are going to work on that by setting up training sessions at Peace Love Dogs and learn to meet people with less of a guard up.

**He’s ready to start taking adoption applications, but I want to get a couple of sessions under his belt before meeting his forever family**

*he’s VERY sweet once he’s done being a tough guy
*can do other dogs, but doesn’t have the best set of social skills to meet them. NOT aggressive, just not submissive immediately
*no kids unfortunately
*he’s very young, so need to keep in mind he may be around for another 15 years
*I think he could be an only dog without issue
*loves to be held, but is also independent

*10 lbs *heartworm negative *vaccinated *dewormed *neutered *microchipped

seems to have dropped some of his tough guy act. He’s letting me put the leash on without a fight, and isn’t trying to bite me when I pick him up (but giving him a heads up and moving slowly).

I told him each time yesterday ‘KNOCK IT OFF’ and it actually worked 🤣 Normally I preach for small dog owners to make their dogs walk on the leash a lot - this dog is being forced into hold and hug therapy 🥰🐶🥰
